I've never tried anything VR that's current but I'm curious about it. PlayStation VR has me interested the most. What's stopping me is the horror stories you hear of folk getting motion sickness and having to do all these things to try and combat it. I've never been prone to sickness but I also don't want to feel ill when I play games. Decisions, decisions.

Still what's your opinion on VR? Have you tried it?

Meh, just weird. Oculus Rift with racing games, okay but you can't see your controls, have do do everything by feel. Sort of fun for first person tech demos, like virtual tour of the Millennium Falcon.

i see it as a tech novelty, Not something I'd use on a regular basis or pay money for.

I have PS VR (got it for the kids) they played it for a week, and now it's been collecting dust for 7 months. I've tried it, and it's meh. YouTube in VR is pretty cool, but that's about it. My wife couldn't play it. She got too dizzy.

It doesn't suck, but it's not worth the price. I'd agree with the novelty part.

It's...ok. I don't have a lot of experience with it so maybe it is just me? I found it frustrating. One game was a zombie shooter and everything felt "off" in every way. Unresponsive controls. Gave me a headache and hurt my eyes

Other one was picking up objects and moving them around, interacting with your environment. I didn't have as many issues with that game at least

I'm sure there are better representations.

I haven't got the chance to play modern VR. I've played the old school VR machines you see at theme parks and fairs and stuff.

Its probably the direction i'm interested in. I'd like to see it as a permanent addition to gaming, along side consoles and handhelds, but it really needs to be more affordable.

So far it has largely followed the same arc as things like 3D and motion controls. It starts out with a few good examples but companies try so hard to build hype for it that they cram it in everything and you get more bad implementations than good. Combine that with companies just try to capitalize on the hype by churning out shovelware and eventually it kills interest.

There are things I'd be interested in trying in 3D, but as others have said, not enough to pay the current price for it.

Just 'plain' VR, well, it's ok...

Now VR with AR and other elements, really has a lot of untapped potential...gaming wise and outside of it as well.

I dont think not being able to see the controls would be a problem for me I never look at my controller. Outside playing around with it for novelty sake I dont think id like it though. I hate not knowing whats going on around me.

I own a Vive

Its extremely fun when its done right, but I'd say the support isn't quite there yet and its too expensive to bring a lot of people to the platform.

When it becomes more affordable to a mainstream audience and easier to use it will be very popular.

I also tried a version where you put on headsets and walked around a warehouse in a shooting simulator and that was extremely immersive and fun.

I should also mentioned that it gets used for non-gaming purposes as well and I believe that field will help as well.

you might have quoted the wrong guy. ;)

Not seeing the controls have never been the problem for me either, but I found it quite strange to play a VR game using the DualShock controller and not the wands. . .

I love my PSVR despite the motion sickness I still get in some games. It can take a little time to get your VR legs if you do experience sickness, but it's worth it. Rush of Blood, Moss, Super Hot VR, the Inpatient, Resident Evil 7... they're all great games, way different playing in VR than not.

I haven't gotten far in RE7 yet between the terror VR creates and the motion sickness but I can't bring myself to play the game flat. I tried, because I'm really into the game, but flat RE7 is so inferior to VR. VR is the future of gaming, same way polygons took over for sprites. Flat gaming will never go away but as VR evolves and improves it'll one day dominate the market.

Rush of Blood, Moss, Resident Evil 7 and Skyrim are what's drawing me to the platform the most. Astro Bot looks neat too. I would imagine Moss and Astro Bot would give less motion sickness if I would get it at all. However I don't want to not play the other games due to motion sickness. I guess it's a case of taking things slowly. Although with that said I do want to buy Rush of Blood and Skyrim VR the most. I see the PSN store has plenty of free things to try too.

I would but I don't know anyone with one. Games stores in my city tend to not have things set up these days.

I have Skyrim on the 360 but never played any of the DLC and to have it all in VR makes it worth buying again I think. I probably will take the plunge at some point and hopefully be able to cope with it.
