Jim Stauffer from Arizona donated his 73 y/o mother's body to dementia research but instead it was it was sold for $6000 to the US Military..and they BLEW THE BODY UP!!

He spoken out on the heartbreak after learning the body of his mother of which he donated to a medical research centre and was sold off to the military only to be blown up in a "blast testing" experiment!!

She died 5 years ago in hospice care following a several year battle with Alzheimer's despite doctors saying she didn't carry the gene for the disease

Medical officials feared the condition may have "mutated" and hoped to study her brain

But when she died in 2014, her neurologist was unable to accept her remains so her son reached to several donation facilities who he hoped would continue the investigation

Finally he settled with Biological Resource Centre in Maricopa County following a recommendation b a nurse and under the agreement by Stephen Gore, they would send her brain to a neuro research group

He signed an agreement which was detailed on what would and would not happen to her remain. Several days later, he got a wooden box that contained the "majority" of her ashes but no information was provided what was used or where the rest were..

3 years later, he learned what really happened and Reuters discovred that the BRC workers detached one of Doris' hands for cremation and after sending those ashes back to her son, the company sold and shipped the rest of her body, includin gher brain, to a tax payer funded research for "blast testing" project in the US Army

She was strapped to a chair on some sort of appartus and an explosive device was denonated beneath her

The idea was to get an idea what happens to the human body goes through when a vehicle is hit by an IED

He said there was actual wording where it says there'd involve "explosions" but he checked NO to ensure none of that happened

Records show that 20 OTHER bodies were used for blast experiments without permission of the donors that were sold for 5893 each. The officials said they NEVER received consent forms from the donors and instead relied on assurances of BRC that they agreed to all this

Jim struggles with the reality of the grisly end of his mother's remains and said he doesn't see a pathway of ever getting past this

He is one of 33 plaintiffs named against in a lawsuit at BRC and its owner in which gruesome details are listed that compares it to FRANKENSTEIN

Former FBI special agent Mark Cwynar described the unsettling scene where a small woman's HEAD was sewn onto a large male torso hanging from a wall in a "frankenstein manner" that was an apparent morbid joke

The BRC picked up the obdies of deceased loved ones from family homes and sold the body parts to the US Government which every BODY PART having a different price where a torso was 4000, in fact torso for 2900, spine for 1900, leg from med femur to toe for 600, a head for 500 and a knee for 375 as a full body cost anywhere from 5000 to 10,000

Gore plead guilty in October 2015 to federal charges of conducting an illegal enterprise and admitted the bodies were not used in a way that donors had permitted and was overwhelmed working in an industry without regulation

His family and kids and siblings pleaded for a LENIENT sentence describing him as a "family man"

He was sentenced in 2015 to a one year deferred jail time, 4 years probation and 121,000 in restitution

Dailymail could not find a license Gore received as an insurance agent in Florida and highest level of education was HIGH SCHOOL!!.

I'm sure there are plenty of unclaimed homeless bodies they can use without resorting to this kind of criminal behavior... come on military.

wtf... Not only is that unbelievably messed up, but I'm also surprised by how much money the government was willing to pay. Also makes me wonder how many other fraudulent organizations like that are out there.

The company they received the bodies from is to blame since they were the one's responsible for getting permission.

They should've "donated" his body to these experiments, then ceased performing them afterwards.

Sure, it's mostly the company's fault. But...

That's inexcusable given what was being done to these corpses. The Army should've ensured there was a consent form, not just taken the company's word for it. That's fucking negligent, and I think they're also partly at fault.

And the company received permissions. They then did not turn the forms over the the government, who should have demanded it, and lied.

I mean if you think I am overlooking the dude, I'm not I feel like his sentence is relatively light but he got his punishment. I'm just calling out the lack of due diligence here for the government buying from what amounts to little better than a grave robber.

Lmao

People would be surprised what happens to bodies donated to science

They have corpse farms where they just watch them rot for fun

Ive honestly said before id be willing to donate my body to such things once i die. For the most part me saying it though is just making the point I dont give a damn what happens to my body after as ive also joked just let the necrophilliacs have at me.

But I will probably put in my will that i dont care and to do whatever with my body.
