The trailers seem deceivingly normal for a Tarantino movie so idk what to make of it

Considering if you dont know who sharon tate is, the premise of the movie is pretty much missed. If it wasn't a Tarantino movie the trailer pretty much looks like a buddy comedy with Pitt and leo.

Anyway about to go see it so report back in bit

Kill Bill was better than both of those

Kill Bill and Inglorius Bastards are definitely on the same level as Resevoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction.

Movie was predictably slow if it wasn't for the feet shots you might not even know it was Tarantino especially the first 2 and half hours. Was enjoyable with humor sprinkled in will probably see it again, but not one of his better films on first impression.

Not really spoiling plot but for the babies there is almost no violence in the first hour and half. Then one small scene then a lot in the endings.

Movie was great. First half felt like a Coen Brothers movie then the second half went full Tarantino. It was a nice change of pace for him. Brad Pitt stole the fucking show though.

Jackie Brown is a cool, breezy movie but it feels more like a Tarantino imitator's work than the real deal. Not a coincidence it's his only adaptation.

Seems like most people have it at close to his worst or his worst.
But then give the *but his worst is still better than 99% of other movies.

I haven't enjoyed a thing he's made since Kill Bill. So imho given that's the majority opinion going around about it. It's a hard pass for me.

My sentiments exactly.

I'm a little biased since I'm a Cali/LA native. However if you're unfamiliar with the Manson family and Sharon Tate, then I can see why it doesnt seem like a very cohesive or meaningful story.

It was a nice subversion of expectations. I knew there was gonna be a bloodbath in the end, but I didn't expect it to end how it did. It was nice.

I just came back from watching and hoo boy, that was a blast.

I was gonna initially jump to complaining about a lot of padded time but tbh the only time that I thought really felt wasted was the Playboy Mansion scene

That scene with the little girl staying in-character was great too

The ending was fucking hilarious and really did subvert my expectations
