To add to this, today Mueller confirmed that President Trump ordered his staff to pressure the White House lawyer to lie to Special Counsel investigators.[1] Mueller also answered that he declined to decide to charge the President because of Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel opinion stating that the department cannot indict a sitting president.[2]
Beginning on page 112 of Volume 2 Special Counsel Mueller confirms that President Trump attempted to fire the Special Counsel. The following pages of text detail the fall-out between the President and former White House Counsel Don McGahn as the President attempted to convince McGahn to lie to investigators about firing Mueller.[3]
Page 112 Volume II of the Mueller Report
The President Orders McGahn to Deny that the President Tried to Fire the Special Counsel
Overview
In late January 2018, the media reported that in June 2017 the President had ordered McGahn to have the Special Counsel fired based on purported conflicts of interest but McGahn had refused, saying he would quit instead. After the story broke, the President, through his personal counsel and two aides, sought to have McGahn deny that he had been directed to remove the Special Counsel. Each time he was approached, McGahn responded that he would not refute the press accounts because they were accurate in reporting on the President's effort to have the Special Counsel removed. The President later personally met with McGahn in the Oval Office with only the Chief of Staff present and tried to get McGahn to say that the President never ordered him to fire the Special Counsel. McGahn refused and insisted his memory of the President's direction to remove the Special Counsel was accurate. In that same meeting, the President challenged McGahn for taking notes of his discussions with the President and asked why he had told Special Counsel investigators that he had been directed to have the Special Counsel removed.

Did Mueller at least answer, in plain and simple English, that "yes, in my professional opinion there was enough evidence to justify an indictment" and that "the only reason I did not recommend to indict Trump is because the Dept. of Justice doesn't allow a sitting president to be indicted"?
He already said so in his report, but said it in such a round about and verbose way that those basic facts seem to be ignored or claimed as false. Getting him to say it, clear cut, was kind of super important.

Bonus points if they got him to state on the record that the Dept. of Justice's policy to not indict a sitting president has never actually been tested in a court of law to see if it is actually correct legal principle.
(Because even beyond Trump, that policy is fucking bs and basically puts the president above the law, and I'd like to see more acknowledgement that it's not some ironclad rule coded into the actual law)

"Could you charge the president with a crime after he left office?" Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) asked Mueller during the former special counsel's testimony.
"Yes," Mueller replied.
Buck appeared to be taken aback, and asked the question again, but adding whether Mueller believed a president could be charged with obstruction of justice after leaving office. The former special counsel again said he believed that was the case.
Mueller has pointed to Department of Justice (DOJ) guidance that states a sitting president cannot be indicted as preventing his office from even considering whether to charge Trump with a crime.

Not as strong a question as I'd have liked, but bonus points for it coming from a Republican who thought it would bolster Trump, cuz... lol

The Dems should get Mueller's view on the five year statute of limitations then. In plenty of cases with such SoL laws, it can be "frozen" for a period of time if it's impossible to actually charge the alleged criminal. Considering a lot of the evidence dates to 2016 and if they wait till he leaves office in Jan 2021 (I hope...), it may well already be too late by then to get a court case through before that 5 year mark hits.

Even Michael Moore admits that his testimony was a fucking failure of epic proportions.

I mean, never mind that even MSNBC and CNN admit that it was a failure all-around. Never mind that never Trumpers like Michael Moore admit it was a disaster. Obviously we learned so much that Trump is going to be removed any minute now!

Adam Schiff said the most "chilling" portion of Mueller's testimony was his confirmation that Russia never stopped interfering in U.S. politics.
https://thehill.com/homenews/house/455054-schiff-mueller-confirmed-russia-is-at-it-again

Sickening that Russia, a country with an economy smaller than South Korea, can buy off and out play us.
Even more sickening how easily our voters are fooled. Education matters so much, people.
We are handicapping entire generations in ways that other nations with free education are not, all for the profiteers. In that way, our greed will be our downfall if we don't wake up in 2020.
This is what happens when country spends several decades demonizing and mocking philosophy and the humanities.
We've seen the sort of anti-intellectualism that prevails in the US preceeding a lot of fascist governments: China, Russia, Cambodia, Franco-era Spain. The first people they go after are the intellectuals and the artists.

Helping people get to the polls is obviously just as corrupt as reshaping districts to give an unbalanced level of power to a minority of voters and leaving our election system open to exploitation from foreign adversaries

its of course just two equal sides of the same coin
