Current Events > Would you date/marry an active duty military female soldier?

I was thinking this may be a good idea because they by default are in shape and employed (which is more than what I can say about a lot of people in this country). But they're surrounded by other men all day and might get deployed, which puts significant strain on the relationship. What do you think? Is it worth going for, or should you stick to civilian women?

Probably not if they're still active in the military. Maybe if they're a veteran, but I know the military can mess you up mentally. That would make me a bit hesitant, but I might give it a try.

The constant moving would kill it for me but oddly I find a woman in military fatigues kinda hot. No fucking clue why.

But I got enough moving around growing up. 4 differently elementary schools 3 differe t middle schools and 4 different high schools. And some of those schools I went to on different ocassions. I went to one elementary school on 2 different ocassions and 2 highschools on 2 different ocassions.

So yeah not doing all that shit again unless she managed to make me love the fuck out of her before her orders to transfer came up.

This. Military girls get passed around like playing cards when theyre in the lower ranks, so chances are high youd either get a princess whos used to getting her way because shes the one girl in the office or the Whore of Babylon.

The stereotypes exist for a reason. But here's why. You get a bunch of 18 to 24 year Olds living together away from home and making a little bit of money. When you're not working, you're either at the gym or getting piss drunk with your buddies. Young people are horny and young people fuck.

Outside of fucking your coworkers, you're most likely stationed in a nowhere town in nowhere USA where there exist people who know that they are stuck in this town but can get away of they hook up with a military member. So they get married before they are ready and for the wrong reasons, cheat often, and then get divorced once they do their first change of station. Sucks, but it is what it is.

Yes but it isnt fraternization when you marry some hoobag stripper you met two weeks ago under the promise of a bit of money so you get out of the barracks and a fairly substantial raise of sorts.

Needless to say this often doesnt work out well lol.

The rules are basically -

1) No adultery - it's against the UCMJ, but people still do it anyway and I'm sure plenty of people get away with it.
2) Within one chain of command, there can be no overly intimate/friendly relations between junior and senior enlisted, enlisted and commissioned officers, at a training command or environment between student and staff/instructors. That means you can't invite your division officer out to dinner and a movie, and technically an enlisted person shouldn't be dating/marrying an officer even if they're at separate commands. Exceptions exist for pre-existing relationships (like a person is engaged to an officer and then they enlist).
3) The minimum age of consent per the UCMJ is technically 16, but obviously civilian law trumps that.
4) No soliciting prostitutes in any locality, even in countries where it's legal.

Fraternization is specifically in regards to relationships between people of differing ranks (usually 2 or more ranks up/down) within the same working environment and generally only comes up when either 1) its an officer/enlisted relationship or 2) one of the participants is the eater for the other.

Even then, people will always find a way to have sex. Thats just the way some people are wired.

They get mountains of benefits while active actually. Being, but not limited to.
*Free housing on post.
* A food allowance
*A housing allowance(BHA)of X amount(depends on your location) to pay rent off post.
*Free healthcare, dental, vision, and hearing.
*free day care
*GI Bill
* Local/weakly job fairs on post
Its crazy, many people marry military folk solely becuase of the benefits. But then again your spouse has near infinite free time becuase they dont have to work, period. So if their young and horny it's hard to control yourself with nobody home partner or family near to keep you in check.

But even still the military is not a easy job, and if your cheating on behind their backs, on their dime....your a legitimately terrible person to the core.

Also a lot of on-base housing now doesn't even deduct your full BAH amount any more which is kind of nice.

Another benefit is that spouses can get preferential employment at some employers and there are a *ton* of military scholarship programs out there for spouses to apply for if they want to go to college.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it's really not fair to people as a whole. Like, if nothing else, consider the absurdity of everyone cheating. A 100% rate for people doing anything but basic life functions is unheard of.
