The earth and moon are already binary planets, there's no need for environmental change.

The moon is only 1.2% of the Earth's mass. Replacing it with something over 8x the gravitational pull would change their relationship.

The moon is already the other "Earth", the moon isn't a moon, it's the other planet in the binary system.

If you require it to be able to harbour human life, it doesn't need to have more mass.

Well apparently scientists believed The Moon did once have an atmposhere long ago, although how it lost it is unknown I believe. It also does technically have a magnetic shield, just a very weak one, which got weaker over time as the moon does not have enough mass to maintain convection at its core to remain molten.

It seems some interpretation is needed.
another earth - a planet with the same mass, circumference, magnetic field, atmosphere, mineral composition, etc.. as earth.
the moon - not the object itself but the point in space it inhabits.
Two objects that size in close proximity wouldn't form a stable binary system.
However if we assume a binary system is maintained them we would have to ignore the moon's present location such that the the 2 planets are an adequate distance apart.

Yes. REPLACING IT, like, all of a sudden randomly out of nowhere, would cause CATACLYSM GALORE.

If it was always that way, and they were just orbiting a bit further apart, then its fine.

Considering goblins reproduce via rape (and only via rape, since they're only born male), kill peaceful civilians, steal anything they can, and only align themselves with chaotic evil entities, I'm not sure that would really constitute racism. Granted, it it was goblins from something *other* than Goblin Slayer, it might be a different story but afaik the only major work of fiction that suggests goblins come from a moon is Goblin Slayer so they'd probably be the horrible kind.

Honestly, even with our level of technology today and organization, I imagine humanity would still struggle against the GS kind of goblins if they were real.

The moon in Goblin Slayer functioned as a moon. Granted, in Goblin Slayer afaik it was likely just a myth and, of course, one of several proposed origins.
