I was a real jerk when I was a kid and I did some mean stuff but even at my worst I really can't see myself robbing a store. That's a bit beyond "youthful stupidity".

I mean, it could have been that the group was already gathered for some reason, and then they decided to go commit a mass robbery. It seems more likely that there was some premeditation, but its possible that the mob just passed the plan along orally in the moments before the crime.

When I worked loss prevention i never saw anything THIS bad, but I did encounter people that worked in groups; specifically distracting known plain clothes officers by the drugs while another team looted the liquor, or vice versa. If they were starving and trying to take food, that's one thing. But drugs and alcohol are not necessities.

Yep, after all, the shrinkage is not the store employees or LP's problem. It's the corporation's problem, so there's no need to put your life on the line to protect merchandise that isn't even yours.

It sounds like you've done the job yourself lol. I was super man at first; south side of chi, bad area, lots of theft, made 3-4 busts a shift. Eventually I realized all these people walk in court, if the police even showed up to make an arrest. I'd bust the same people multiple times a month lol.
