Pez was putting forward "Ben is town but lying", iirc. Scum strategy for self-preservation when they don't want to push someone who is obviously in a position which directly contradicts them, but is unlikely to get lynched.

I consider myself fairly good at reading Death. He basically only produced fluff and there wasn't a single post by him which made me think "damn, that's a good point." When he's town and I am too, we tend to have similar reads and views but I didn't get that this game (to be fair, he produced next to nothing, which is quite unusual from him in the first place).

Ben was mostly just vibes. Again, I've played a fair bit with him before, and he was a bit weird for the first few post about then I saw some posts that made him feel like an annoyed town Ben which I've seen before.

I find it perfectly viable, myself. If it's any consolation, you're probably top of my scumlist right now just because of PoE from scans. This is probably the safe option.

Ulti's opinions this game have been odd. He clearly has a vested interest in this narrative of "all flavour scans are confirmed town", because he was scanned. He thought I was scum for the first half of the game, for voting too much and such, but today he said I had been townie but this was an unfortunate "loose ends" lynch today. I don't think he ever explained why this shift occurred.

I agree Ulti has been weird but I don't think I've been in a game with him for a few years so I'm not sure how much I can trust that, plus some of it has just been activity cause iirc he posted a lot more than this.

I was confident on Death because it was very different to the usual. Not so confident on Ben, but it was definitely an unnecessary risk to lynch him compared to what I chose to do.

Also certainly never been a tactic that's actually led to winning a game for town. Definitely not what's happened during every day I've been here for so far, successfully.

There is a difference between lynching a guilty scan, and creating a false situation of "we can lynch these people and only these people going forward".

I feel like every game I've lurked Death has been thin on content. Am I wrong? Is it a difference you could properly assess with a day of game?

I'm not sure if this is directed at me or not? I have in no place said that. Logically, though, the only unscanned, non-scanner claim (if we're including Cam as a scanner based on his last claim), is you.

Death doesn't necessarily have TONS of content, but I can't think of a game where we've both been Town and he hasn't fairly regularly came out with good thoughts or ideas.

Fair enough. The game is way easier when it's not day one, and also there's a million guilty scans.

I wish I could just dayvig Cam or Sheep, either one would be super informative.

First time since Day 1 I can really play the game properly, and it's independence day.

Putting aside flavor meta I would say Sheep has been scummier. This whole "Death and Pez were obv scum" by the end of the day seems so generic. Why did no one else point out Death's lack of content relative to his "town" games

Cam isn't much better as far as scumminess, mind you

But he's a great and powerful target bomb opera singing wizard who is sending Ben his scans so I would say hands off

None of this makes any sense. Ben, if you're trying to trick scum into not shooting you or whatever it's really just muddying the waters not knowing what the full claims are at this point.

I'm going to be less liberal with "clearing" people at the moment, and put it down to this list instead of the usual.

Sheep flips town? Your list of suspects looks like this:

You'd need to play a lot of it by ear with scan results. You're going to have at least one scanner alive tomorrow, which in theory will resolve Cam or Lea. You probably just lynch the other one-- granted I think if flavor scanner is alive scanning Voldemort is worthless so it'd have to be Lea. Removing a godfather risk in me or SBell isn't a bad idea.

Kinda like Puns as town based on his play and flavor scan confirm-- he's getting a bit of a red at disneyland vibe at this point though so I'm hoping he can contribute soon. Ulti as town is fairly safe too. I'd probably lynch Lea and Cam here (Cam is off the table if Ben has already flipped villager), then SBell.
If you meta Tom taunt thumb possibilities and overall gameplay, SBell is a better choice than me as a godfather possibility, in my best attempt to be objective.

Cam looks really strong as town at that point from flavor meta and being the sender. Again, I think 5tarscream's best option at that point is to clear a godfather risk. Really like SBell as the 6th scum. Flavor godfather + normal godfather seems like a viable setup, and SBell has played this game like a godfather I think-- being meek and inconsequential to draw a cop scan, then more senselessly aggressive after being confirmed. You then probably lynch me, I guess-- it's a mistake but a necessary one. After that we're probably left with Lea vs Puns vs Ulti at the end, as the prophecy foretold. I'd probably just lynch Lea at that point because Doctor Doom and the other two being flavor confirmed, but you know.

Of course, Harry could flip as perfect godfather, meaning you definitely just scan Lea in that case and consider me and SBell cleared. The game is trivial at that point though.

Cam, why did you choose to scan who you did?

Y'know what, reading back a little I feel good about Cam. He may well not be Voldemort, but he's very likely to be town. Scum has no reason to damn two of their own just like that if Cam is scum and Ben town, and Ben/Cam cannot possibly make it to f5/f3 together as scum. It just doesn't happen. The claim is too risky for a scum duo of Ben/Cam. Ben is town as well because he just doesn't reveal he's the "cop" if he doesn't know who is giving him the info and is scum, and if he does know he just kills them at some point.

Lea is the only acceptable lynch I can see today, now. The only unscanned, non-scanner left in the game. Get her today and we start cross-checking scans tonight, because if Lea isn't the last scum there's almost certainly some variety of godfather.
