I've seen lots of variants of lightning rods and manipulators

I'm not entirely certain of how Tom's role works, but I'm certain I've played with a variant that is somewhat along those lines

e.g.

"Anything that would target player X, will now target me"

trackers will see Tom visit payer X in this scenario

Not talking about Tom's role I'm talking about my hypothetical role that would change what someone flips as when they die

I was once mafia on a second secret scum team called The Patriots. All of us flipped as town Vanillas. But everyone called that game bastard because of it and Han would never include roles like that

This is more of a Mafia role

The Town equivalent is more of a Role Oracle

So when they are killed (not voted out), there are variants of this

Sometimes it just says: Role Y

Sometimes it says: Player X is Role Y

Where player X is who the role oracle targeted

But I haven't seen a variant of role oracle that worked upon being voted out

But yeah, both role oracle and actress are semi common in role madness type variants

Actually, one of the common variants I used to play was a 15er

It included 3 Mafia
3 neutrals (ranging from neutral killing, neutral evil, and neutral benign)
and 9 Town (Maybe 6 of them are Town Power roles and maybe 3 are Vanilla types)

That variant had strong chances of Actress showing up

I can see the line you're taking and I think it comes from a good place

I *really* feel that the critical piece of the puzzle we're missing is either 5tarscream is not Town Bookreader, or we're looking at a godfather in the mix

I also think Mafia would need some sort of investigative and stopping power here

So role cop + roleblocker/jailkeeper

A bomb may replace role cop for targetting a cop, but that would mean like, Mafia would be wanting to strategically sacrifice their bomb

In this case, I think it would be wise if our strategic roles do not vote Death, for example

Cam your claims of being so great at this are embarassing in the face of your ridculous claims. To any player with half an ounce of sense I've been confiremd town flavour cop since like D2 when I caught red. On top of that you of all people should understand that there is a flavour cop because your claimed flavour is almost definitely intended as flavour miller.
SBell's claim is also pretty moronic. What it does suggest to me is that Death is the more important scum role and that's why you were so hardline for pez over Death. Your theory on the redirect was basically debunked immediately yet you still went for it. What's even worse is you agree to lynching Death today but are trying to throw shade on people that wanted to lynch him yesterday.
Your argument against lynching Death was that he could have been the victim of a redirect and could be a mislynch. What has changed since yesterday to now to make him a legitimate lynch today?
The answer, to save you the time, is absolutely nothing has changed. If he was the victim of a redirect N1 yesterday, then he's the victim of a redirect N1 today too. Unless you're going to claim that you thought Pez was a more important town power than Death but how would you even know that?

I think it's 'fine' in setups if it's a day time suicide bomber, but I don't like it as a lynch mechanic that punishes Town for lynching Mafia correctly

2 of those are scum.
Sheep would have to be either town vanilla or godfather because I confirmed him as Harry Potter with the N2 scan.
That'd leave Lea, Sbell, Lopen and puns as the other Mafias.
Of them I'd be most likely to beleieve Lea. It was Lopen until yesterday when he not only doubted Ben lots of people did but he was actively trying to kill the cop claim instead of trying to kill one of the vanilla claims to test the theory.
SBell is my second most likely scum because he's done nothing but push town lynches except for yesterday where he was spouting nonsense about the high possibility that scum red N1 managed to redirect Ben and frame Death.
Puns has an outside shot and being scum because he's basically been lying all game and coasting through with 2/3 effort because he's busy. This would be easier with coaching from a scum board to keep him up to date with events.
If Death flips town then I'd be on SBell and Ben for the fake claim slip in a scum to validate. If you're going to give up a scum teammate to validate yourself it's probably going to be your flavour cop when all the powers had been claimed except for Tom who Pez probably scanned because he "had a gut feeling he was a protection role"
