It was as bad as that Phillies game the other day, and the pitcher was getting knocked around hard (on the scoreboard) and he throws a pitch at a Phils player's head and hits him. The ump gave BOTH managers a warning, even though virtually all the Phillies were doing was scoring a ton that inning, and didn't provoke anything or anyone.

Manny Machado was suspended 1 game recently for arguing with and touching an umpire. To be honest I didn't actually see what he did. Maybe it was justified. But the tweet is pretty ridiculous though and kind of gave the impression that Machado was being targeted by umpires in general. That's why MLB came out immediately with a statement condemning that tweet by the Umpires' Association. The video in the response is probably the best example of why people hate the umpires so much. Ron Kulpa made some egregiously bad calls, so the Astros called him out on it. But he either didn't like that or he was on a power trip and wanted to eject somebody. A bit of both probably. I think it was confirmed he actually said "I can do anything I want." But it's the lack of consistency with umpires and the fact that they're not held accountable for their actions that bothers people so much.
