Thankfully I have the opportunity to get a decent amount of offline practice and I haven't touched Online in about a two week or so. I decided to hop online today and man the difference hits you like crazy. Everything feels sluggish online, I can't do things that I could offline, certain characters are a pain to fight online. For example in my group I usually two stock this young link player offline but online he two stocks me since it's harder to deal with projectiles. I dunno if it's on Nintendo part but 20$ a month for this is inanity.

I used to have no real problems with my connection until I got a new modem, out of necessity since the old one was dying and constantly disconnecting. But now I have shitty connection when playing Smash and I don't know why it changed. But now I'm considering investing in an ethernet adapter. A shame I have to spend MORE money on top of that $20 a year just so I can have a decent online experience.

It is. I completely avoid offline play for that reason, except for the training room. I've been online exclusive for so long now it's my preference and it's really weird the few times I've done a match offline.

It's pretty sad that emulated Melee online though Dolphin is like 100x better than Ultimate's online.

playing offline is a blast. playing online is such an exhausting endeavor in managing sub-par matchmaking and shitty connections that I stopped playing altogether. I need to see if people do weeklies or something around here.

The CEman here have good connections the first tourny we did I only lagged once out of 18 or so matches. Playing with randons will always cause lag.

From what I've heard even if both players have good connection you're still going to have delay on your moves. To me this was very noticeable, like I said, my movement felt sluggish, I felt I couldn't react to things that I could work around offline, the experience just felt weird. I felt like I did 10x worse Online than Offline.

Any online latency gets to me.

So I avoid Online play.

I'm really good irl, I play very cautiously and have a really strong reaction time. Input Delay from online completely changes how the game is played. It sucks.

If you have a wifi, it's really questionable. Ethernet though is great, I regretted not hooking one up immediately.

Oh. I never seen any big problems aside from people farming GSP with some jank rules. I stick with arenas but those are slow sometimes.

Yeah, with wifi it really does depend on the people and where they are and the Internet in question, etc. Like yesterday I fought a Palutena opponent in quickplay and it was basically a slideshow. Between really laggy opponents and playing in matches with rulesets I really hate, I wish I could haul ass without taking a GSP hit.

The online is pretty garbage

The rules you decide on aren't guarenteed, tons of people with poor internet. 90% of people play keep away with young link, or Simon with a 9 minite time limit.

Tons of people kick you from lobbies the minute they lose to you

I had smoother connection playing Phantasy Star back in the day on Dreamcast's dial-up. No hyperbole.

I love Switch, but its online play is that bad.
