Freak show & Hotel are my favorite seasons.
Season 1 was pretty good too but it should've ended at episode 12. It had a season finale feel to it and the last episode wasn't really needed.

Could've tacked the Michael scene on to episode 12 and been a fine ending.

You're right freakshow wasn't too bad actually now that i think about it

The only thing I didn't like about freak show was that it took place in the 1950s and they randomly did musical numbers with songs from much more recently than that.

Freak Show is the only season I genuinely hated. Other than Dandy, I didn't find any of the characters relatable or likeable. I also thought the story was boring.

I think i like Freak Show more than other people because its the first season of the show i watched.
It wasnt until last month that i started to Netflix the earlier seasons to see what i missed & to see the connections to Apocalypse.

I literally watched Season 1 & 2 in a span of 3 days about 3 weeks ago.
Season 1 i watched in 1 day all by itself.
That last family wasnt needed at all in Episode 13, it felt like a filler episode.
Shouldve ended at episode 12 as it had a series finale feel to it, just take the Michael ending from 13 and add it to 12s ending.....done.

S2 was all over the place.
Murder , aliens, mental people.
Good season just wish the aliens were more fleshed out and explained why.
I actually saw parts of this seasons finale when it originally aired.
I remember flipping through the channels and her being in the room during the interview & her son talking to her. The room itself like the design & colors really stood out to me.

Haven't really started Season 3 yet.
Started to watch it & 10 minutes later had to do something for the wife (go to store).
Came back home and the mood to watch it was just gone.
Then got in the mood to watch Pee Wee's Playhouse & Peaky Blinders, love both shows.

Maybe in a week or so will watch Season 3.
Faster i watch season 3 faster i can get to rewatching Freak Show & Hotel.

The only two AHS seasons I can't stand are Roanoke (good concept, probably the worst execution imaginable) and Apocalypse (I think it had one of the most powerful opening 20 minutes in TV episode history, but then it turned into bland, boring garbage).

I like everything else, with Cult being probably my favorite season.

I thought Murder House and Asylum were the best seasons, Coven and Freakshow the worst, and Hotel and Roanoke about middle of the road. I haven't seen enough of Cult or Apocalypse to make judgements about them.

Asylum still has my favorite final episode of the show, mostly because of the last 15 minutes.
Coven started off decently, but the quality of the season started crashing just after the halfway point. It also had some dropped plotlines and plotholes, I think.
Freakshow was mostly a dull season punctuated every now and then by standout episodes, including what I thought was one of the best in the series (Edward Mordrake, Part 2)
Hotel kind of started to run out of steam after the Ten Commandments Killer is revealed, but overall I thought it was a decent season. The Devil's Night sequence in the last episode was also good.
I thought Roanoke to be the best season I've seen after the first two. It also had the only episode I actually found to be kind of scary (Chapter 6) other than the start of Murder House's Pilot.

The addiction demon didn't kill him; he didn't die until a few episodes later, of drug withdrawal or something IIRC.

First episode of Roanoke was promising. It looks like theyre actually trying to be scary again.

Roanoke has interesting scenes but I was disappointed that they took a good premise and then screwed it up by using the same recognizable actors to play the "real" people.

I wish they had taken the Fourth Kind approach and used small time actors (or... like real people) to perform as the... real people. It would have added legitimacy to it, especially if they had done some marketing like half a year before it aired doing interviews with the *real* people about their experiences.

I loved how people were review bombing it on Amazon when it was airing - one group was saying it was bullshit anti-Trump propaganda and one side was saying it was bullshit anti-liberal propaganda and the beauty of it is that it's right in the center.

It's a little bit to the left. My takeaway was that it's saying the American right is super fucked up, but the American left can very easily fall into the same tactics.
