Yeah once as a kid. I was at a friends house and he pulled a gun out of his dads closet and pointed it at me. He said he meant it as a joke but he also said it was loaded with the safety off.

It was scary but for whatever reason I didnt tell my parents for a few weeks until the kid got in trouble for some other stuff and they asked me if he had ever offered me drugs or anything.

Yes. Guy thought I was trying to hook up with his cousin that lived with him (he was VERY protective of her because her parents died when she was young).

Didn't matter that she was about 5 years older than me and I was a minor. That, plus the fact that she already had a boyfriend and the whole being a lot better looking than me should have been a clue there was nothing going to happen.

Yeah, my dad used a pistol to keep us in line. If we left the house for any reason at all, he'd be waiting at the door with the gun ready and interrogate us. Then of course the time he went crazy and was gonna kill me with it.

A few other times too, but those were more just people being dumb/reckless rather than anything malicious.

Sorta? Had a high school party way out in the desert one night, and these three drunk old guys (50s, maybe) showed up and started being total creeps. Creeping on the high school girls, drinking our beer, being overall gross, etc. at some point one went to their truck and got a gun and started shooting up into the air. People got spooked and left. The guy meant it as a joke, so I wouldnt exactly call it a threat, but he was drunk and no one knew him and we were in the middle of nowhere so it was pretty threatening.

Honestly, not a lot of them do here. Where guns are used, they're almost exclusively used by gang-members fighting with other gang-members.

When I had the warning shot I mentioned in my post I understand. Though I wasnt aware at the time I was tresspassing on someones private property. So yeah you are mostly right. Ive had family members who where quick to pull a gun though. Mostly for threat tactics though as mostly theyve never actually pulled the trigger

One time when I was like 13, as everyday after high school, I went to the Arcades. Then was this kid, with his hand under his hood pointing at me, saying he had a gun and that he would shoot me unless I gave him my money. But I didn't believe it, and I didn'd have a lot of money... so he just left and I never saw the "gun".

Hell, the idea of a "warning shot" is not something you see here either. Even in the rural areas where farmers have guns, they use them to see off coyotes and other pests, not trespassers.

I occasionally do field work where I need to go out and conduct readings on test posts that have been placed along pipeline right-of-ways, many of which are located on private property. In Canada, that's generally not a big issue, even if the test post was installed via eminent domain (i.e. without the landowner's cooperation) - occasionally there are confrontations where landowners demand to know what we're doing on their property (we do notify them beforehand, but sometimes those calls/mails get missed) and I've had the cops called on me twice as a result, but that's it.

In the US, though? You do not go out for any test-post inspections unless you have signed acknowledgement from the landowner. Legally speaking, we don't need permission from the landowner to access the test post, but it's still not uncommon to have a gun pointed (or shot) at you if the landowner doesn't want you there (which is absolutely fucking bonkers in my mind), so if we aren't able to get a hold of the landowner, that test post is not getting inspected and the landowner gets to deal with an oil spill on their property if there's a problem we didn't catch as a result.

Not directly but when I was in middle school a kid threatened to bring a BB gun to school and shoot me. But it was a diffferent time and I passed it off as being too outrageous to be real. Nothing happened.

And apparently (according to one my brothers), back when I was a kid, a neighborhood kid once aimed at me with a gun from about 150 yards while I was sitting on a porch.

lol, Americans thinking it's actually easy for criminals anywhere to get guns. They have to have connections to even have to the option to purchase one. Then there's the price. They are not going to spend all that money when they can just rob people with knives. And of course, if they get caught with a gun it's going to a more severe sentence.

no gun. but one time someone claimed they had a knife in their coat and they would stab me. it was a crazy person. I have no idea if the knife existed. but I was terrified in my head but kept my cool and made no eye contact with him or said a word. and just walked away and he followed for a while making me scream internally. but eventually he stopped and veered off somewhere else. I did nothing to him. was waiting for a crosswalk light to turn, and he was standing next to me. I was actually on the phone leaving a voice mail to my mom about something. and he heard me talking into the phone then looked at my face and screamed about knowing who I was and that he had told me to never show my face again. he also had a girlfriend who was laughing and cheering him on. they were either insane or on drugs

That reminds me of an incident in high school. Our lockers were assigned alphabetically by our last names, it just so happened that mine always ended up next to the most popular jock. So of course it was the gathering place for him and his lackeys between classes and usually ended with mine being blocked or messed with. Anyway, one time I was grabbing something from mine when approached me from behind. He grabbed me by the shoulder, turned me around, pressed his arm against my chest and pulled out a big hunting knife. He put it to my throat and said he could kill me right there. I wasn't really impressed so, so I just told him it was a nice knife. He asked if I was afraid of him, and I said not really. He put it away a few seconds later. I knew he wouldn't do anything, so I don't know why he put in the show the one time when no one was around. I figured it'd be something he'd do to impress his friends, but I guess not.

not exactly threatened, but i was riding home from a concert a few weeks ago. heard a loud pop/bang whatever and the window next to me in the car was suddenly cracked and shattered. there was a clear impact point in the window like 3 inches from where my head was. not 100% sure so i can't quite say what it was but i'm glad the angle was off just enough that i didn't die either way.

Heavily and i mean heavily wooded area. I couldnt see his actual house through the trees. He didnt come out of the shed. He came from around the trees. I laugh about it but I do feel bad i left my friends in the dust. They woulda never caught up to me had i not gotten clotheslined by a vine in the woods

But yeah wooded area is how it happened we had been exploring new areas in the woods as thats where we hung out
