Edit: Oh, I forgot to say that. I started with season 6, where, like I said, Disney bought the rights for the dub, and hired better voice actors.

I spent a couple hours today sharing fanart of Nessa and Sonia with a bunch of people I know on twitter(dear god are they cute), and it kinda put me in an unusal mood. I decided to check out the tv show. I heard from a friend years ago that Disney bought the rights for the show, and replaced most of the voice actors with MUCH better voice actors, and well, I just watched the first episode, and I'm impressed.

My main complaint with the show is that everyone annoyed me, and it looks like Disney fixe that problem. Ash's voice is a lot softer. In fact, I think everyone's voice is a lot softer. Not even team rocket with their stupid mantra got on my nerves, because the way that they talk feels mercifully softer.

I also really like May, the person that I assume replaced Misty. When she fucks up, it's funny because she doesn't massively overreact.

The only thing I don't like is the theme song, which is a hsame, but eh...

So yeah, I think I'm gonna keep watching.

Finished the second episode now, again, loving how hilariously clueless May is, and how disinterested she is in Pokemon, and she just wants to travel.

Also like how The Team Rocket organization actually has competition where this season takes place(Hoennn Region) and they actually seem competent. I'd love to see Ash face someone evil that's a genuine threat!

Anyways, third episode. Gym battle already, fuck yeah! :D

So apparantly Ash gave up all his pokemon besides Pikachu, wanting to start over. I really like that idea!

Again, Team Rocket feels toned town, and they actually got a humor induced smiles out of me.

Also, Torchic is so cute!

And finally...::

Meowth: "Well I'd be happy if we just got a life!"

Yes. Something like that. Let's be honest here, the first thing criminal organizations and countries would think of using Pokemons for would be for crimes or war. It wouldn't be about Pokemons fighting each other, but actually trying to kill each other and the trainers. If some criminal organization bent on world domination would have an army of Pokemon, do you think they would give a shit about trying to defeat you? No. They would electrocute you. Or chop your head off. Or poison you.

4th episode, and May and Max are pulling on Ash. Oh my god, threesome confirmed? :P

Brock is back, and I'm really liking him. He seems more competent, and May seems to be into him. You know that they're probably having passionate moments with each other behind the scenes! :P

This episode feels like it took a lot of inspiration from the Spearow episode in season one, only much better! That moment where Ash caught Tallow, so badass!

At the end May was hiding behind Brock. Their first moment, and they successfully hid it from clueless Ash. hehehe.

Again, Torchic and May are priceless!

Hehehe, Meowth thinks he's got a clever plan to capture pikachu while he's weak, but of course he's not weak, and we get a hilariously anti-climactic Ash shouting "pikachu, thunderbolt." :D

Man this show is great!

Onto the 5th episode.

Nokolai I hated the second I saw him. Please tell me he is just in this episode.

So far mone of these episodes feel like filler to me, which is pretty cool.

I imagine Ash finds very relatale, since he himself was pretty incompetent for a while

Oh, we're not supposed to watch Nikolai. I bet that Ash is gonna get his Mudkip too.

I also wanna say that I find it interesting that May got some of the starters. I figured that Ash would be getting all of em!

Also, Tallow and ZigZagooms are so cute!

He always does this since they need him to catch the newest Pokmon, which is logical. The worst part about it is that Pikachu always gets nerfed.

Well Pikachu is always Pikachu, so in other words he quite LITERALLLY never evolves, so it makes sense. That said, he seems pretty badass in this season.

6th episode. The Theme song is actually kinda growing on me.

Brock impresses Nurse Joy. Like I said, this guys moves are so much smoother now. I bet that he's been wining and dining and bending over all the Nurse Joys he comes across now! :P

He's still gotta work on his technique on the real fun, the officer Jennies! ;)

Poacher enemy has got a gun, and he's actually competent. He's pretty damn intimidating too. Nice to see an actual threat! Oh yeah, more of this please show! :D

Wow, were Jesse, James and Meowrth really willing to sacrifice themselves so that Ekans And Arbok could get away? They just earned some of my respect! Gotta try to remember this episode.

6 episodes in, and none of these episodes feel like they don't need to be here.

Ok, I've actually watched the first 8 episodes at this point. I just wanted to space out the posts. I'm gonna stop watching it for now, but I'm gonna try to watch 4 episodes a day from here on. I wanna mention the highlights of this season so far.

Episode 1:

Everyones obnoxiously larger than like personalities are merifully toned down, and no main character annoys me. I loved May the second I saw her. I love how she's a reluctant incompetent pokemon trainer that just wants to see the world!

Episode 2.

I like the idea of Team rocket actually having other gangs that they have to compete with here. This is the nly episode that I've seen of them so far, but they certainly feel like threats!

Episode 3:

Ash gave up all of his pokemon so he can start over and challenge himself, and seems to be taking combat more seriously. And because everyones personalities are toned down, I find myself actually laughing at team rocket!

Also Meowths line "Well I'd be happy if we just got a life!"

Episode 4:

Oppourtunites to read between the lines, and realize that the characters are often having passionate moments with each other, like when May is hiding behind Brock, you just know that they got it on! :P

Oh, and Tallow and Torchic are so cute! Kinda cool that May got the fire starter pokemon instead of Ash!

Episode 5:

I liked it, but it's the worst episode so far. Nothing really stands out to me.

Episode 6.

This is probably my favorite episode so far.

Again, Brock is a lot more confident, and his moves are smoother. Again, he's probably popping Jennies like Forrest Gump! :P

A truly competent one-off villain with a fucking shotgun inspires Jesse, James and Meowth to give up Arbok and Wheezing, and almost kill themselves to stop the competent villain, and as a result become competent villains themselves, and earn my respect!

Episode 7:

More sexual tension between everyone, suggesting that they're all having fun behind the scenes :P

This episode got me to care about a dying tree, and it wassad that it died in the end, even if it respawned a bunch of others. Ash caught treeko using actual strategy, and it's a reminder that Ash is now competent!

Episode 8:

Actual laugh out loud line from James How about we try to catch something easier, like a Taxi?"

Jesse getting pissed off at start Viper, beating the everloving snot out of it, and then catching it! Best moment in this season so far!

Oh, and and again, Tam Rocket are actually competent now. Sure they lost, but they put up a good fight, which in the end makes them funnier for it.

Pokemon caught so far this season:

Ash: Tallow and Treeko
May: Torchic.
Brock: Nothing.
James: Cacti
Jesse: Star Viper

So I wanna talk some more about episode 6.

In A Poached Ego Jesse, James and Meowth almost fucking DIE using their fists try to kill a Poacher that wants to enslave a bunch of pokemon. They fight an opponent that they cannot hope to win, andthe only reason that they don't die is because the Poacher gets tired of shooting them with his bazooka, and decides that they're so pathetic that they're not worth killing.

And even after that, they still wanna try to get up stop him, but try as they might, they just can't, they've suffered way too much damage. For a moment, the show made me forget that the characters in this show are basically an unique take on Looney Tunes, and no one every dies. That's how fucking good this episode is!

Episode 9:

Finally The party reaches the next city!

So Team Rocket are so desperate for cash that they're taking a temporary job as woodcutters.

Once again Brock is impressing May. Hmm, wonder when they had time for a quickie! :P

Apparantly Electric pokemon eat the same as grass pokemon, and shroomish was won over by a band on his head.

Yeah...not liking this episode. The old smans story of him as a kid ws so boring that I skipped it. Really don't lik his voice, seriously! And seriously, we were teased a haunted house, but it's just a bunch of lame mushroom pokemon hideaway.

I swear, every time I hear this old man is the king of blandness. The only fun parts of are when Team Rocket are talking.

But you know, I wanna end on a positive note.

I used to find this show so annoying, and Team Rocket were the worst part. They made the show feel like there wasn't actually a villain on the show, and more just a really unfunny joke...and that's what they pretty much were in this episode when I think about it. Ok, forget what I just said, the episode sucks!

----

Episode 10

Ash fights an opponent with...great, another bland voice...joy! Oh, and no matter what emotion he goes for, it all sounds the same. Pretty sure he's the same voice actor as James, and he's just simply phoning in his lines. I do however like the idea of the show making me think that the Pelicur has all these attacks, only for it to turn out that he's hudidng a bunch of pokemon inside his muth. Oh, and as soon as he's found out, he's no longer phoning in his lines, and a all of a sudden I'm really liking this episode. Sure, Team Rcoket are still flanderized...and Ash isn't using strategy again either, but hey, this was entertaining. They all can't be great!

Episode 11

you know what the last two episodes have been missing? I mean besides Ash having the competence that I fell in love with, and Team Rocket being competent again? Seriously what gives?

They've been missing Treeko. Come on show, sick of only seeing Tallow come out!

Anyways, being bored with this episode has made me notice some things I hadn't before, like the fact that in some shots Max's arms are thicker than his legs. Sure enough, cheap animation. :P

Gotta love how not only are we not getting Treeko, but the "guest pokemon."

Oh, and congrats episode. Even I'm not liking Max this episode.

END! END!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and Tallow shows up again, joy...

Ok seriously episode, you have to earn the emotional surprise evolution music

Bite me episode!

---

Episode 12

Oh, wow, a "beach" episode. That's great, because it means that I know right away that this episode has no reason to exist, and I can just skip it! Thanks for the small sliver of an apology show, I really appreciate it! :D

Till tomorrow!!!! :D

*laughs* Kirby, you are taking my jokes waaaaaaaay too seriously. :D

Episode 13

6 minutes in and I realize that this episode isn't bothering me at all.

Treeko's finally back for a bit. Yes! :D

Oh Jesse's snake pokemon is named Gadeiver! And man is it cute how much Jesse loves her Gadeiver! In fact, from what I can remember, outside of James getting mad at Magikarp, I think they've both been really loving towards their Pokemon. Kinda makes me wonder about 2 things that might be possible in an alternate universe where everyones personality is the same, but different events happened.

1. Could Jesse and James both be eventually reformed, and maybe join Ash on his journeys?

2. If Jesse and James ever succeeded in capturing Pikachu, and Ash went out of the picture, could Pikachu over time be persuaded to obey them?

Just a couple thoughts.

Gotta say, I like the way the final round works. Makes me think of the game. Lookiing forward to seeing May participate in these!

Very satisfying episode!

Episode 14:

In this episode Jesse bends over...ooooh yeah! :P

Love how May completely dismisses Jesse and James during their mantra, and then Jesse and May start fighting, and it's just adorable! :D

Pikachu trying to learn Iron Tail was so cute!

May and the Ranger got along really well, so you know their bodies got along REAL well behind the scenes! :P

Treeko fight, yes! and man this double battle thing is so exciting! More of this please, show! :D

Man, everyone got along so well in this episode. You know what that means, they got along REALLY well at the same time during the commerical breaks! Kappa

Yay, May caught Warmple!

"Make it double, we got Wumple, you lose!"

"I don't respond to yelling!"

"How many times do I have to clarify? We catch, you steal, it's that simple!"

God Team Rocket, how did you come from being the worst thing about this show to the best part of the show? :D

Hehehe, Wurmple ate all the food! :D

Oh hey, looks like we're heading to a 2-parter! :D
