Well, and there's something to be said for leaving a lot of fans wanting. The more people that queue up for tickets that can't get them, the easier it'll be to carry the momentum forward for future shows.

Apparently WWE is giving 3 months of network to former subscribers for $0.99 in an effort to get their numbers back up. I guess their tanking ratings have now hit the network.

An easier option would be to start booking stuff people actually want to see, instead of the same rematches over and over that nobody wants.

I think the biggest telling point that there was some earnest storytelling in this episode was the DREW MAC/Heath Slater interaction. You have obvious undertones of their past relationship, DREW MAC seems to legitimately want to help his former bandmate and says he hates seeming him that way so he offers him some cash. Slater is initially hesitant to accept the money but ultimately goes to when its dropped on the ground and DREW MAC proceeds to beat the holy hell out of him until The Revival finally pull him off Slater... then The Revival quietly pocket the cash off the ground.

This isn't even brilliant stuff. It's just simple story telling involving motives, characterization, and interactions.

You know what annoys me about Drew McIntyre.

He yells at everyone while beating them up, launching into some stupid monologue.

I feel like that's the kinda thing you should do once in a while for special occasions. Not every time.

I dunno, in WWE "meaningful beatdowns" are so few and far in between that I like that he's doing something different than the norm. He makes it seem like he truly believes everybody he beats down personally wronged/insulted him, and it just feels like a nice character touch to me.

I'm just saying like, Drew beating up Heath Slater should've meant a lot more than him beating up R-Truth to me because there's actual history there, but I'm watching it and I'm like "oh Drew is doing Drew things again" more than anything. I guess it usually doesn't matter because as you said "meaningful beatdowns" are rare but it irked me for that segment at least.

Well if the tournament is actually run all in one show, a different show than the one to win the bye, the bye is very valuable because in theory you're less fatigued than the teams that have to go through the whole bracket. If it's not, then yeah, a bit silly.

I actually watched that whole episode because I was on a flight and as a point of pride refused to pay the airline for full Wi-Fi.

It was still complete shit.

The 2/3 falls match was shit, the iiconics match was shit, the angles were the same warmed over shit and the main event match could have sold a PPV under less incompetent
