I think it's quite obvious.

They've already mentioned it's an action adventure/horror game that heavily focuses on area connections. You travel from area to area setting up connections that allow for improving and developing new quests and activities all the while avoiding the many dangers you'll face. Think of it as Mass Effect 2/3 with way less RPGing and a new "stranding" feature.

Sure, we don't know the plot yet, but why the fuck would we? The game isn't out, would you rather be spoiled? I don't understand people that complain just for the sake of complaining.

Ghost Recon lets you do any mission without boarding and leaving a helicopter every time, in MGSV that's only possible with Extra Ops and a handful of story missions.

You can go loud or go silent with no penalty or punishment, long as the mission is done. In MGSV you can kill but you better finish that mission 60 seconds later to get an S rank

Weapon selection is markedly more vast and actually based on real-world guns.

The open world actually has things to collect and do. Not just roaming from base to base

Your liberation of certain regions can be seen and benefited from. No enemies respawning at a base you just utterly destroyed in the last mission

All MGSV let you do is be more creative with the horse/box/dog. The actual practical techniques to complete missions can be listed on one hand

MGSV was incomplete and it STILL is the 19th most expensive game ever developed

Konami partially was to blame but it's not hard to imagine they were getting annoyed he was taking so long with things like horse pooping and actual rock climbing mo-cap despite there being like 4 actual places you can climb in the game

Apparently he blew most of the budget on that cinematic hospital intro too

Remember when Kojima copied MG2 and just made it 3D for MGS?

Remember when he stole the twist from Empire Strikes Back for MGS?

Remember when Kojima literally handwaved all explanations with nanomachones?

Remember when Kojima literally copy pasted Snakes sidekick for his copy paste father?

Remember when Kojima couldn't come up with names so he named two characters "peace", named a scientist "strangelove" after a movie he stole themes from and "diamond dogs" after an album he liked?

Remember when he copy pasted the twist of MGS2 for MGSV?

Best in the business.

Lol all of these things don't make Wildlands a better game. And most of them are ass pulled reasons. Hell, it having more weapons isn't even a pro when they still dont have as much variety in the 50+ weapons than MGSV has in the 25+ weapons.

MGSV gave the player the freedom to approach every situation in dozens of different ways. Wildlands maybe gives you 2 or 3 really different ways. The same you complain about the "practical techniques" could be said about literally every Ubisoft game, including Wildlands. why not just go through 80% of that game just using the drone and the overpowered timed team shots?

They certainly make it a better game than MGSV. If all you have for MGSV is "freedom" then I don't think you actually played Wildlands. MGSV forces you to make your own fun.

MGS5's weapons are all run of the mill stuff, shotguns, rifles, snipers, tranq and non-lethal versions of those aforementioned weapons, except they don't even have any brands to probably save on licensing. You can't even wield Snake's M1911 anymore. This is a far cry from Peace Walker, which is the real MGSV tbqh

Again, did you actually play the game or did you just see some gameplay footage and made your conclusion? Or does a cardboard box add 9 different ways all of a sudden?

Oh you mean the same way I can tag and blaze through an entire enemy base in a few minutes with D-Dog wearing a sneaking suit?

MGSV prides itself on goofy strategies. Most of the tactics are either standard MGS stuff (stun enemy, drag away to hide, tranq everyone) or goofy shit like wormhole fultons, letting a guard slip on horse poop and stunning an enemy with your rocket arm. Funny you mention team shots as OP when all they do is tag enemies in co-op for your friends to take out. Meanwhile apparently Quiet is totally okay though

I have 85 hours in MGSV dawg. Most of it wasn't very fun.

Yup completed both games. And there's plenty more variety in approaching each situation in MGSV than there is in Wildlands despite it having more weapons.

Completely missing the point here. If you're just talking about practicality then you only have 1 or 2 ways to beat most Ubisoft games. Wildlands = drone and timed shot. Assassin's Creed = angled poison dart/knife etc. Those are the easiest and most practical ways to get through the majority of both games.

That's kind of difficult, because the approach is so amorphous. Like, to actually answer this properly, I'd need to draw lines of routing on the map, then explain the differences, and then have consideration for guard routes.

Simple request, data-dense answer.
