So, I've waited for awhile and been a little coy. I wanted to give Tom and Red some time to post.

For those of you who don't know, Tom and I used to be roommates. That's how I came to play mafia here. I mostly played on AIM, but I played here on the board a number of times too. Tom and I are typically very good at reading each other, beyond what most could believe. In fact when we lived long enough to get a read we've only been wrong once each I think (counting both AIM and board mafia). But my memory might be faulty there.

Why did I include Red in this? Well Red played with us a bunch on AIM and he's played in almost every board game I've played in too. He knows how good we are at reading each other.

I've dropped hints all day about distrusting Tom. I've made sure to mention it every so often. It should've come up in any skimming that Red did.

So, Red knows about the roommate powers as Tom and I call them. And I've been waiting to see if he would bite on any of those nibbles I've left about being suspicious of Tom. Red has a tendency to lurk. He let people know ahead of time he'd be at Disney and then when he showed up today he mentioned flying today (I hoped we might get through D1 before Disney was a problem for him).

Red didn't bite for most of the day. So, I've been leaning towards Red and Tom as both scum.

If Red is town then theoretically he sees me being suspicious of Tom and with knowledge of the roommate powers he would comment on that especially with all the recklessness going on elsewhere.

If Red is scum and Tom is town, then Red is ok with me being suspicious of Tom and maybe will use it in the future. Also, maybe he uses it at that moment to build momentum on a Tom lynch which he can then blame on em.

If Red and Tom are both scum, then Red will want to minimize my suspicion on Tom. Red will mostly do this by ignoring any obvious comments about it and probably not bring up Roommate Powers at all.

It's only D1 so all of this could be meaningless. But I think both are a better lynch than most of the current suspects. I'd rather we move away from the likes of Death and Corrik. I'd still be ok with SBell. Mostly because I don't have a good read on him. I think we've already moved away from Han, but we should definitely stay away.

FYI, what I was looking for from Tom when he came back was a wall of text. He used to give these huge walls of text after he'd be away. He's come back. No wall of text. Whoa hold on now. Ive not done a full read of the game. Been able to skim through for major events(miller claim) and been able to see recent posts when poking in but full read i have not.

Ideally I would've waited until more of D1 had passed. But apparently I can't trust Corrik not to hijack the day with either absurd claims or actually using a day 1 power. So, if I want to preserve these thoughts like I said I did. I needed to pre-empt any more silliness from him.

I am not particularly convinced those couldn't be scum moves rather than misguided town ones. I am not sure I have played with Corrik but I do know he plays a whole lot these days, so I am willing to cut him a below average amount of slack on stuff like that.

When did I say we should lynch you? I thought I said you were a better lynch than person X. Also, when did I say specifically I don't have a read on you? Again I thought I've been pointing at you as one of my suspects. It's D1 though so I probably said something along the lines of I don't have a strong read. Because no one really should have anything too strong on D1.

@ulti You can contribute based on how you think Red might respond. It's not all about Tom.

I will happily expand on my thoughts about Tom once he's posted his wall he said is coming. I'm not expecting anyone to counter roommate powers. I said multiple times that I'm trying to generate discussion and preserve thoughts. If Tom's wall does indeed come out I've encouraged him to contribute more and that's a win. Red already has contributed more, though he's also gone back to lurking it looks like.

The roommate powers are not meant to be anything more than hey I know this guy really well, therefore you should take my opinion with greater weight than player X who barely knows him. Our interpretations of each other should be weighed against your own reads. If you have a strong read a different direction that's great have at it.
