I...think rather lowly of those who buy stuff from Apple, I'll leave it at that... They're already cool w/ paying twice as much money for the same Chinese-made products others sell and supporting a company that evades billions in taxes.

If Apple did try to revoke that music and get people to re-buy it some other way (w/ a flashy marketing campaign to convince them why this is actually a good thing, like getting rid of the audio jack was), I'm guessing most of their customers would lap it up.

Would love to be wrong, though.

I dont think so. I dont think many were actually happy. Though, enough people probably had Bluetooth headsets and just dealt with it. Personally, I just stick with them because changing now wouldnt really do any good. And Id lose a lot of stuff. And would have to pay a bunch of money. But like I said, Ill be fine if I have all my music. And if people dont, there will be major backlash... I would think...

What you're seeing is the beginning of the end to owning music you paid for.

Apple is going to go the way of so many other companies and switching to a subscription service. Music is now going to be a subscription service.

I recommend locating the mp3 files within your computer and moving them to an external hard drive if you want to keep the music you rightfully paid for.

There are still other places you can buy MP3's acting like Itunes owns the entire market is a bit odd. Not to mention if the record companies that own this music do try to remove the ability to buy an album or select songs it will just spur piracy even more. Napster was so popular because at the time there was no way to get 1 song from an album unless it was a single you had to go to the store buy the album then convert that one song with your computer.

Also in today's market there are still a lot of ways to get free music, almost all songs are on Youtube, then you have things like Spotify and Pandora.

To be fair, subscription services for music isn't nearly as bad as for something like, say, video games or movies.

Most subscription services have millions upon millions of songs available at the click of a button. Sure, I have about 300GB of songs on MP3s and space is cheep, but it is much more convenient to tell my subscription service to play "Devil Went Down To Georgia Radio" then go buy a bunch of related songs I will only listen to once because I am in the mood for some fiddle music.

Ive never been a fan of itunes and I really hate how apple made it so you needed itunes to transfer things to an ipod. Though you could use other things, such as a plugin for winamp, but its still a program or something else I need to transfer files and not drag and drop which makes the most sense.

I havent used itunes for any purpose since like the early 10s, but I recall it being bloated, slow, and useless. Couldn't figure out how to do certain things.

the ipod itself was a good music player. the partnership with itunes made it a piece of shit.

good riddance.

I just view itunes as a slow, bloated, confusing to use program in some ways, and I never liked it as a result. But the only reason I ever used it was to transfer my non apple songs from my computer to ipod. Winamp was better in some ways, but the ultimate program ive seen for cataloging music and playing it is foobar2000. it takes some work to get it looking and acting how you want it, but it functions far better than I ever recall itunes doing.

confusing? idk lol it was pretty simple
the worst part about it was that songs that were purchased from iTunes were low fidelity and had horrible drm... but if you had an iPod/iPhone and just wanted your CD library on your device, it was fantastic. super organized and very clean looking.

Apple created a lot of edgelords. Sure, their computers are overpriced as fuck but Apple isnt all bad. And yeah you might be paying twice as much for a computer from them but its gonna last 2-3 times longer than your average PC.

And at least they arent like Google, selling all your personal information to massive corporations. Fuck Android for that exact reason.

They might use better parts than buying say a Dell or something since they do demand a level of quality, but if your building a PC yourself there is no way the Apple outlasts someone using good solid parts and building his own.

Acting like Apple PC's are more future proof is a joke they are expensive as fuck because Apple wants to make money and they use all their own parts built to order which is more expensive.

If Apple did try to revoke that music and get people to re-buy it some other way (w/ a flashy marketing campaign to convince them why this is actually a good thing, like getting rid of the audio jack was), I'm guessing most of their customers would lap it up.
