I also refused to watch all of those live-action Jungle Book and Mowgli movies that came out within the past couple years (seriously, what the hell is going on with that? Weren't there like 3 remake/reboots within the past decade or so?) They really need to go back to hand-drawn 2D animation, with even bigger budgets and love. Hand-drawn animation is timeless. I enjoyed both Maleficent and Beauty and the Beast but Disney is going way overboard with the live action stuff. If they insist on it they should only do new stories in this style not retread every single classic in their archive. The entire special effects budget went into Will Smith as the genie and that includes set and costumes. I think I have seen more convincing green screens on the weather channel. The actors are unlikable and give very meh performances. You could replace them with cardboard cutout and it would probably be more entertaining. Smith does get a few decent lines in the middle, but it's Will Smith being Will Smith and quite honestly it's probably one of the more phoned in performances. They make a couple interesting additions to the script, but don't really expand on them so they just feel out of place. Overall probably a 3/10 --- I am awesome and so are you.
