I was wondering about it. I know there are people who like it and people who don't. For the people who like it, what is it you like about it. Does it have a different taste or something? I was just wondering. I don't think it tasted any different, but it's been a while. Just a question I was thinking about...

I can't completely explain it but it's like, feeling the pulp brush past my tongue and the back of my throat as I drink the juice enhances the experience.

Plus, sometimes I like to "chew" the OJ as I'm drinking it, catching bits of pulp between my teeth. And then sometimes I'll strain the juice through my teeth as I drink it, leaving the pulp behind for my chewing enjoyment.

My mother drinks heavy pulp. I can't drink orange juice at all unless it's no pulp.

I guess I'm not big on chewing my drinks. Even when I have ice, I usually eat it after drinking most, if not all, of the drink.

I love both. I don't know if it's like this for all OJs, but I usually associate pulp with a stronger orange flavor.

usually I like things to be smooth. who the heck wants bits of junk in what should be a smooth experience (like nuts in ice cream, which is terrible). but for pulp in orange juice, I like it more. you aren't chewing it, and it just gives more texture and weight to what you're drinking.

So its more of a texture thing for you two? Though I dont know if I felt the same about the weight. I do agree that its a different texture. Though, I guess its not really my type of texture...

Fair, but peeling an orange is a pain and you get more juice drinking orange juice with pulp. Plus, the little pieces are already separated. It feels a ton different than eating an orange. So to me it's a different experience. :3

I prefer no or light pulp, but if it's fresh and unprocessed I'm happy with the OJ. I won't drink the broiled OJ (normal processed) at all.

Cold pressed is ok, but freshly squeezed is the best.

Just found a place near me with cold pressed which is great as I rarely drove all the way to Trader Joes anymore to get the freshly squeezed (still the best, but not worth a trip).

If I want pulp, I'll eat the orange. When I'm buying juice, I only want juice. Don't give me filler.

While I can drink either, I prefer pulp. It just tastes better to me.

I grew up with orange trees in my backyard. When you wanted OJ, you went outside, picked a few oranges, cut them in half and put them onto this machine with a long handle (it looked something like: https://www.amazon.com/Nemco-N55850-55850-Easy-Juicer/dp/B000ZGR80O/). You cranked the handle down and it squished the orange, extracting every drop of the juice.

Juice made that way is loaded with pulp, so that's what I'm used to.

Commercial orange juice also doesn't taste ANYTHING like fresh squeezed Valencia oranges.

Commercial orange juice is pastorized and disgusting. They boil it and then add sugar to mask the taste (doesn't mask it for me, but most it does).

It's horrid.

I only drink fresh squeezed if possible, but cold pressed works in a pinch (still not as good as fresh).

Oranges cost so much here though, it's actually cheaper to buy it squeezed/pressed if you can find it. Costs like $12 for the oranges to squeeze it yourself vs 6$ or so for it already done.

If commercial orange juice in the stuff you buy from the store, Im usually ok with it. Freshly squeezing them seems like it would take time, plus, Im not big on the food in my drink kind of stuff, for most things. And I feel like it would be overly expensive. But I know some people just like those things better.

Also, that juicer thing is expensive...
