Given the climate of today's nanny culture, the person who'll win it all can't even sing at all. In fact, they'd be born without any functioning vocal cords, and so he or she will be deemed brave for lip-synching on the mic.

Prob needs to be something like that. Is there any state rivarly or animosity over there? If so then the typical oh Russia and Belarus gave 12 points to eachother again like they done pretty much every time thing would happen.

apparently the first season of masked singer was well received and a 2nd one is underway... they just need better panelist(who seriously thought jenny mccarthy was a good pick?).

Eurovision is a song contest though. Each entry is an original song. Some countries send national superstars and the stage shows can cost a shitload for 3 minutes (the maximum length of each entry).

Russia 2016 is a prime example of national superstar with multi million show.

Eh, I dunno if it would end up well.

Australia takes part since 2015 but they have aired Eurovision annually for DECADES on national tv which is why they got invited for the 60th edition.

Songs in English tend to have an advantage in Eurovision these days but there are always non-English entries which do great each year.

2016s winner had an English chorus but the rest was in Tatar while 2017s winner was completely in Portuguese.

Each country has two point giving entities: a national jury and the televoters. The jurors and the televoters in each country both give points to 10 other countries. 1-8, 10 and finally 12 points.

The first 40 years only had jury voting though while 1997-2008 only had televoting. 2009-2015 the jury and televotes in each country got meshed together but since 2016 they both give out points separately.

Most of the time they sing in English in Eurovision, which isn't as good in my opinion. I want to hear songs I can't understand in their native language.
