Yes, I would say they are, specifically survival horror games for me. Movies and music are pretty close though.

i listen to music every single day, it's the one medium that affects me without fail, and i can't imagine life without it, but i don't really even consider it a hobby. i listen to music while working, commuting, and sometimes even while playing video games! i even like a number of movie and video game soundtracks! maybe if i were making music, i'd consider it a hobby.

i'd say i've devoted more time watching tv, watching sports, reading literature, traveling, and doing physical activities this year than i have devoted to video gaming
