The usual classic suit didnt have the white webbing jutting out like the Raimi suit does. Also the reflective lenses among a couple of other things

Also far more iconic than 75 percent of the armors they put into the game that were only around for a short while in the past decade.

I dont care about the Raimi suit but its just a standard spider-man costume. Thats better than the Reilly suit to me

Insomniac got hounded over the suit for months. They announced all of the DLC suits and no sign of it. So they got hounded more.

Finally they said;

Listening doesnt mean we always will do what people tell us to. We hear you. Hearing doesnt mean we always act or follow.

Which caused entitled manchildren to go into overdrive and start sending death threats to the developers.

Oh yeah I also forgot to mention that at some point RaimiMemes was bombarded with gay porn because of the controversy too.

The game itself is proof that they love Spider-Man more than any developer since...Neversoft maybe? So I don't think they really care about the critics as much as getting to adapt Spidey for a publisher that actually gives a shit. Game did so well they're undoubtedly going to be able to do it again too.
