Pretty clearly started with Season 2 (sorry, the first season is just very weak compared to the ones that followed) and at the absolute least goes through season 5 (arguably the best season of the show), and there is a pretty solid argument that it ends there (following that season they started to break format and make major changes to the show), but IMO most of the single-digit seasons still had far too many high-quality/classic episodes to count them out.

Honestly I could see an argument for any season up through 13 being the cutoff. 14 is the first season that I really think is just too low-quality to justify including it, especially considering what followed.

Personally I think I'd just cut it off at the end of the single digits, with the departure of Chef (S10E1) being a major event that coincides with the end of the Golden Age.

Golden age started with season 4 IMO and ended at season 10.

Some later seasons have matched this stretch of quality (12-14, 18), but 4-10 was the series' peak

EDIT: On second thought, S11 was pretty solid too, even if a step back from previous years. Golden age is from S4 to S14

2006ish, then 07 to 15 or so was still ok for the most part. Been forgettable or bad for a few years now though. You can kinda tell they are done with the show.

S2 is definitely worse than you remember. Like easily worse than S1, and I'm not arguing that S1 isn't rough.

I enjoyed it from like 5-12.

I should also note that I watched all of those episodes in college. I didn't like anything before 5 (I tried, but just didn't enjoy any) and have not seen many after 12.

In the first 3 seasons, there's only 4 episodes I consider absolute classics: Weight Gain 4000, the Cartman's Mom 2 parter, and Chinpokomon. The rest in those 3 range from good to mediocre to AUGH

All fantastic episodes.

And upon looking at Season 3, it's even better. Not a bad one in that bunch.

Episode 201 marked the last time SP was consistently good. Its still good and I love it, its just not consistent.
