L-Block wasn't great until the last couple of matches. Undertale was pretty meh since every match after the first one was a foregone conclusion except for Melee.

But the really significant thing is that Zelda has done it in 1 on 1s, using natural strength most of the way.

These contest have become meaningless and relatively unpopular. The contests used to be a real big deal where people would cheat all the time and lived/died with their favorite characters. Now it's all boring.

If she pulls the rematch, without a doubt. Uphending Link without offsite rallies, using only natural strength, possible rSSF on the one character that it shouldn't be happening to, and the traditional late contest shenanigans would put her in the all category.

No. Undertale 2015, L-Block 2007, Draven 2013, Cloud in 2003, Majora's Mask in 2010 Gotd I would all consider higher.

Yeah

Feels like we're already moving the goalposts for her though given that she has beaten noble niner after noble niner. In terms of a rogue's gallery hers is amazing

The finals bracket has been unbelievably boring. Still about what I expect from such a Nintendo-centric site. Not meaning that as a dig, but the truth.

She's already really close to it, as it is. But there's still arguments for the likes of L-Block, Draven, Undertale, Majora '10, Cloud '03, Starcraft/Melee '04, etc.

If she defeated Link in match 150, it would no longer be even subjective.

Zelda has yet to have a balls to the wall crazy match that is close. She's been dominant, but not exciting like the ones above her were. If she has a match that ends close before this contest ends though, she enters the conversation.

Eh not really. Any other run where Link actually loses or someone at least put up a genuinely good fight are more entertaining. Zelda somehow pulling off a win would be neat I suppose but this final just being two LoZ characters underwhelming.

Draven 13 and L-Block 07 were both stronger than Zelda 18 and also performed higher relative to their expectation coming in.

If anything Link is probably having the GOAT contest flirting with not letting anyone get even 40% on him.

If you just mean in terms of consistently winning close matches vs good competition than that would be Undertale 15.

I'd say this is the best run given so much of it was off just straight up GameFAQs power. Undertale was uninteresting after ME3 went down (I wonder if it'll win the afternoon vote again???? Wow! It did!!!), Draven was just an angry and unfun time all around, and Cloud had only one match where he really punched above his weight, so it wasn't really a "run". L-Block 2007 was the one other you can really make a case for, since it's just so wild and funny and lots of those matches were huge surprises, particularly L > Snake > Sonic.

No, Id still say Alucards got the best run of this contest, followed by Tifa.
