I want it primarily for Odyssey. Ultimate is just a nice bonus. But even combined they're still not enough to make me want to pull the trigger on a Switch just yet. I think the only possible games that would instantly make me buy a Switch are Super Mario RPG 2 or a Paper Mario sequel that follows the formula of the first two. And neither of those are going to happen.

It has been on the pipeline for an extremely long time. If it didn't make you want a Switch, you don't actually want it that much

I bought a Switch is August, installed an SD card, and own Splatoon 2, Octopath Traveller, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, Diablo 3 Eternal Edition, Civilization 6, Dark Souls Remastered, Super Mario Odyssey, Skyrim, Xenoblade Chrinicals 2, Super Mario + Rabbids, and Smash.

In other words, my game library is already better in this short time span than any PS4 or XBOX owner on Earth. Great system.

I enjoyed Smash Bros when I was a kid but once I got
to my teen years it just got extremely boring. I was kinda hyped for Brawl because I had a Wii and this was supposed to be one of the biggest exclusives, and only 15 minutes in I realized the game was boring.

Like even with couch multiplayer it was fun for only about 15 minutes.

I feel like Smash subsists purely on hype and Nintendo fandom.

Get rid other consoles?

No. It took a step back too in terms of matchmaking. There is no longer a dedicated 1v1 option. Instead, you set your "preferred rules" and hope you match up with someone sporting similar rules.

I've tried running 1v1 preferred rules and it works about 33% of the time. Every other time it's put me into a 4-person free for all and occasionally a team battle.

It also uses the same P2P hosting system, meaning the game will run as slow as the slowest user's internet. The same thing that was responsible for all the lag in SSB4 and Brawl.

Additionally, even if you DO find a lagless person with whom to 1v1, you will not be able to change your character if you want to rematch. The way it works is, you hit the character select screen AND THEN go to matchmaking. So after each match, it just dumps you right back into the training room instead of letting you change characters.

They really took two steps back from SSB4 as far as the online is concerned. Real letdown.

Yeah its because your playing brawl. Its not the most casual of the series but literally the worst game in the series. People just assume its casual because they are bad at competitive and ignore important details like how poke balls are either garbage or super OP, unlike 64 and melee where theyre either a decent assist or a huge help.

Shitty to know they managed to fuck up online. When brawl released it was almost ok usually because well Nintendo sucks so fucking bad at making a usable online mode, but thats because they didnt listen and got overhyped on connectivity last gen, theyll catch up.

Now here the fuck we are, nearly 10 years later and still have garbage online with problems that shouldnt be problems.

What other game spawns in you in a mode you didnt fucking pick? Just unforgivable...
