For the purposes of this topic, the 1 billion dollars is not taxed, so you don't have to worry about "the man" stealing most of it.

Also for the purposes of this topic, the genie isn't your typical "3 wishes then poof", he'll provide infinite wishes and won't do that whole "genie word twist" thing most genies do.

You can also use the genie to wish for money, but you cannot wish for more than 1 billion, and once you wish for any amount of money, the genie goes away forever and every wish you have made is undone except for the money wish. You also can't get around this by wishing for a job that pays you a ridiculous amount of money, or wishing to win the lottery, or wishing people would give you money (whether voluntarily or not) or anything like that. Any wish that relates to your own financial growth makes the genie and any other wishes you've made go up in smoke. Literally.

I also reserve the right to add more restrictions later on, because I'm sure at least one of you will find some loophole or another.

Yes you can, you can use the stock market, and if you just so happen to win the lottery with your own luck then that's fine. It's only if you influence it with a wish that everything goes kaput.

Assuming I can use the genie to wish for stuff, including food, video games, and everything else. I could live forever, and global warming/the heat death of the universe is irrelevant because you know... Genie.

One Billion dollars makes me as happy as a billionaire. A genie makes literally all of my problems, past and future disappear.

It's just a standard genie though. Ive yet to use it to wish for money and might never.

that's my line of thinking too, but I can also see why people would prefer the money, since they can't use the genie to get money without giving up everything else they've wished for.

They say there are some things money can't buy, but in this scenario there are some things the genie can't wish for, so it's all about weighing your options.

Lack of spending is fine. I guess I should clarify and say that anything that DIRECTLY helps your finances. I consider not spending money on something and getting it anyway an indirect way. Though maybe our opinions differ on that.

As long as you don't sell the stuff you wish for it's fine IMO.

That's a toughie. I'm gonna say you can't do that because the way you're making money is a method you're only able to use because of a wish you made on the genie.

You can still wish to become a genius, just don't use it for profit.

I don't particularly care much for having money just to have it and having a genie could get rid of most of the reasons to have money. Like I wouldn't need a car so there'd be no need for insurance which saves a lot of money.
For housing I could wish someone would let me have(but not own) a house in exchange for keeping it in good condition.
Have the house be energy efficient and have a good solar panel system and the electricity bill will be very cheap.
Food would just be free.
Proper utilization of a genie means you don't need to go to a doctor or hospital ever.
