It probably won't work. Expiration dates on medications indicate the start of decay for effectiveness of active ingredients. If it's more than a month or so past date it won't do anything.
Eh, I shouldn't say such a blanket statement, sometimes it's just to get it off the shelf. It really depends on what those active ingredients actually are.

Theyve actually found that expiration dates dont actually mean anything. The army saves millions every year just using expired medication because its just as effective.

Its a way to boost sales.

Yeah, its just by law it needs it. A better term for it would be a best before date. And in most cases expired medication can still be 100% effective 15 years after the stamped date

I'm still using antacid that expired in 2006.

Of course, it's basically just ground up limestone, and rocks don't generally have expiration dates.
