So right now I have to think Zelda is the favorite. Even if Snake does take back the lead overnight, she'll easily win the day and take back the lead then. He has to have something like 400-500 votes by the day to be safe and that'll be tough to get at this rate.

I think Pokemon Trainer vs Big Boss is a good match to look at for trends, and Big Boss only gained about 0.5% rest of the match from that point... which would leave Snake still about 0.4% short.

School doesn't really matter these days because of smartphones. People can vote whenever.. but we still get a substantial amount of people voting during the day, just not in one big chunk like with the ASV.

We've seen AAA and kid friendly characters gain about 1% in the final 12 hours still.

This is definitely still a toss-up.

If we want to look for trends, Zelda vs The Boss is probably the most logical one to use since she's also an MGS character and Zelda was at 70.31% at the 8:20PM update and ended with 70.70%

Yeah that's a huge bounceback and it's not like either is spiking. It's the other falling off that is causing it

Zero impresses, and Mega Man only looks ok.
Magus and Frog impress, but Crono only looks ok.
Knuckles and Tails impress, but Sonic only looks ok (at best).

I'm sensing a pattern here!

Edit: Oh, yeah, and same with Link relative to Ganondorf and Zelda!

Right, I forgot she actually beat up the Boss in this contest as well. Looking at her matches, she generally actually goes up in percentage from this point so being up at 51% already is pretty good for her. She probably won't go up from here in this match but it gives her a good buffer.

I thought Crono looked pretty good in his match. He got a better results than I expected compared to Mega Man and Sonic who are looking to do worse. Crono managed to finish with a better result on Bowser than Pikachu did on Yoshi.

for a guy who has had no games for decades or even a Smash appearance He performed very well.

I decided to pick this second chance bracket based on my initial thoughts and stick to it. I picked Zelda here. May still end up being wrong, but this result doesn't surprise me t all based on results so far.

He would have beaten Mario in his Prime.

The Issue isn't his Nintendo Support. It's the fact that his Sony and MGS support is dying that is causing him to struggle.

It depends how Snake looks against Auron or Sonic. Considering how the rest of MGS has looked, it seems likely that Snake has simply collapsed and the collapse is unrelated to fighting a Nintendo opponent.
