This one is one of the easiest ones to call outside of link ganon.

People forget Crono gets a huge amount of votes from the Akira toriyama/DBZ/anime fan base on this site not just from CT fans.

Hes hugely popular and this one wont be close. Bowser does well to get over 40%. I dont think he will.

I dont know who these guys are that are suddenly popping up all over the place saying Crono is #2 but they are nuts. He is at best #6.

That said I think Bowser > Crono is a risky pick but not entirely outside the realm of possibility.

Crono's been the weak link of the Noble Nine ever since he lost to Sonic in 2006, no matter how much people try to delude themselves into thinking otherwise. And the brackets have bent over backwards to try to disguise this, only he's managed to get exposed anyway.

In 2008, he got put in the Nintendo half of the bracket and got to ride Link's SFFhammer past Mario and Samus.
2010, the bracket was set up for him to be fed to Sephiroth in Round 3, except Missingno managed to knock him off earlier.
2011's wacky rivalry format was bound to be an anchor on him anyway and he had to suffer the indignity of vote-ins because Lavos is less a "rival" than a force of nature, but was spared the indignity of losing to a team without a Noble Niner as he was given to Snake in R1.
2013 saw Magus as the 9-seed in Crono's division, so he'd have LFF as an "excuse" for going out in R2 even though he was vulnerable to an early upset regardless.

No, I'm not denying that CT would've beaten Melee without rallies. But Games =/= Characters. The only thing from Chrono Trigger that is still elite is Chrono Trigger itself in Games Contests. This is not a hard concept to understand.

I'm picking Bowser to defeat Crono, but I wouldn't be surprised if it went the other way. Crono won't get past Cloud though, anyway, and if he does get to Cloud and then presumably beats Bowser again in the loser's bracket, he won't get past the Mega Man--nor Pikachu if he proves strong enough to beat Mega Man, which is also an upset that I'm taking. (I do think that Bowser would be able to beat Pikachu, though, because Mario is higher up on the Nintendo SFF chain than Pokmon. We saw this already when Pikachu failed to break 55% on Yoshi, who is definitely weaker than Bowser. Pikachu might still be able to beat Bowser, but if so, it wouldn't be by much. Strictly rSFF, though; I firmly believe that Pikachu is indirectly the #4 Nintendo character, behind only the company's three Noble Niners.)

wow in cb9 Pikachu got 47% of the vote in Crono/Magus/Pikachu...Unless Crono received like 95% of Magus Votes, Pikachu was stronger. Pikachu looks insane this year, so is Megaman in trouble >_>?

CT was being hyped to beat Ocarina in the 2015 contest.

Not just top 5. Straight up win the whole thing.

If you don't think there is a series boost for CT you are delusional. Say what you want about games =/= characters, there have been three games contests before and CT was never as strong as in the last one. There could easily be a boost for Crono himself
