I didn't know this company existed, nor did I even suspect that one controlled this much of the glasses industry.

There are what, 5-7 international mega companies that control much of global commerce. They just kept all the smaller brand names they swallowed up to give you the illusion of competing companies.

Yeah, mega congloms are horrid. I don't even see what regular people can even do to combat it. Online retailers give a leg up and chance to the little guy, but of course that's still dominated by big corps. This companies only real competition is Wally world.

I went to my optometrist several months ago for the first time since I picked out my current pair of glasses, almost a decade ago, and I still achieve 20/20 with my current lenses. The frame and glasses are also still in good shape.

Oh, Im well aware. About 10 minutes away from me is where they make Jacks, Tombstone and Digiorno frozen pizzas. I remember when the whole outfit changed hands from Kraft to Nestle about a decade ago.

Theres a pretty good listing of the others here:

https://www.internationalbusinessguide.org/corporations/

Edit: actually its a little dated (and a blog) since it shows Comcast and Time Warner as separate entities.

lol, TC the only place you're going to find a degree of balance of power or control is in videogames. and sometimes not even there.
