i've always waited and gotten the newer model of consoles pretty much but should i just try to get one within the next month or two when i know a new model is coming?!

At this point it might be worth at least waiting to see what the new model is actually going to be. The games aren't going anywhere!

It depends on how badly you want to play Smash when it launches. If you don't mind waiting, then you can hold off until next year and get a Switch when the new model launches.

It's rather unlikely that this system's new version will be a straight upgrade rather than some sort of sidegrade.

i assume there's switch deals in the states to offset the cost of you maybe upgrading your switch in a year or two, because in canada we can buy a switch with a $150 giftcard, and we rarely have better console deals than americans.

also there's a slight chance a switch might be harder to find post-smash? it's unlikely, nintendo has a lot of switches in their inventory but nvidia have been undershipping chips to them lately so if smash and pokemon do wild numbers it may be a small inconvenience.

but mainly do it for piranha plant.

i highly doubt nintendo are going to announce and release a new switch model between now and january so that's not exactly relevant!

Gamestop will have a deal where you can get a Switch, Mario Kart and a $50 GC for $300. pretty decent!

that seems so good that i'm not getting my hopes up of being able to get it
