The only way this makes sense is if they have a separate event to announce the PS5, like they did with the PS4, unless that announcement is another year away and they literally have nothing new to show.

They don't really have anything "new" to announce otherwise as they're just releasing the last few blockbusters that have already announced, which is part of the reason why there is no Playstation Experience this year.

It's really starting to feel like we're officially in the winding-down phase of this generation. Wouldn't be surprised if we get a PS5 announcement in the next year, and SHINE's probably on the money that both TLoU and Death Stranding will be moving to it.

I figured The Last of Us Part II would be out by E3 based on how completed they said the game.

Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima being moved to PS5 would make a lot of sense though. Though Death Stranding could be both.

Thinking PS5 announcement late 2019 with a March 2020 release date. Kind of like how Nintendo handed the Switch reveal to launch. Though they could release it Holiday 2020.

They already said they have nothing new to show, hence no PSX. And E3 has been getting less and less important.

This is still a blunder though, as it is giving Microsoft and Nintendo 100% of the presence there. Would it not make more sense to do what Nintendo did in 2016, i.e. show up but no press conference?
