Are long commutes a sign of "roughing it" and "doing what it takes"?

Is quitting a job because you can't tolerate a long commute "entitled"?

Millennials, no... people in general typically have absolutely terrible spending habits and have no concept of the true value of a dollar or differentiating a want and a need. Never taught how to budget or how to save.

I've heard as early as 82. I was born in 85.

Though I really can't call people who've had the internet their entire lives as being a part of the previous generation which CAN remember porn costing money, beating it to CLOTHED women and having to catch the show when it came on and not being able to just go find it to watch later.

If you say "What's that?" when I bring up The Wonder Years, you're sure as fuck not part of MY generation.

Actually, the next generations will vote on inheritances taxes and I believe by 2040 unless you are extremely smart you wont be able to pass any wealth down...this is what that generation wants.

My favorite millennial logic is when they leave an expensive city and come to a rural area, only to vote left, and make that area expensive....its like they don't get basic economics. Tons of California people have moved to my area, and they all voted to raise taxes, and didn't understand why their property tax went up, now most of us are going to move to get away from them.

Maybe economics should be a high school class and we should stop trying to force Spanish/French on people. The only people who learn another language are the dedicated so making those classes mandatory is pointless.

Then they should pay more for those positions. The Bay Area is one of the nicest, most exclusive areas in the country. Nobody is owed living there like it's some sort of fundamental right because they "like the vibe", and certainly not when the entire rest of the country still exists.

If you can't afford to live there, and you don't like the commute, then you have to find a job somewhere else or get used to the commute. That's true in any high rent area anywhere in the country. Manhattan. Boston. The Bay Area.

They are pretty standard pop punk/pop rock. They're not bad at all but they're really not anything special. They don't do anything to stand out within their own genre.

I don't understand what the point of this post is... If you're working you're not allowed to complain about rent? I live in Arkansas partially because rent is low, but it's a conscious tradeoff because my low pay here will certainly make wage negotiations harder if I ever move to a higher cost of living metro area.

Well you could always sell your car for a bike or a used POS and move into a cheaper, crappier house/apt.

I would like to move to an apt that costs $2,200/mo with brand new appliances but instead I live in a reasonable apt that's $1,400/mo because it's well within my budget. It was a concious decision.
