5/10. I mean when I'm in one I'm normally in too much pain to give a shit but I generally find them very busy and poor seating. They are however effective so fair enough I suppose.

Free as in like 5,000$ but after you apply for low income they take a quarter of the bill away? Is that what you mean by free?

It's cute when you try and be smart but fail miserably.
I mean free as in the good ol' NHS. I know it's a foreign concept for someone like you.

Fuck them. I'd rather just go to an urgent care and pay 200 bucks. Quicker and more efficient.

Oh. Well in that case emergency things and hospital care on the NHS is free to most residents of the UK. I believe some other things are free for both unemployed or not too. Prescriptions, dental treatment and other things have to be paid for if you work however but don't if you claim benefits. One of the very few silver linings of being out of work is this.

Dental insurance is like something you can add on to your 150$ a month insurance that brings your 16,000$ bill to 5,000$

Fucking republicans

So winter lets say hypothetically someone in the UK had a heart attack. Do they get taken to the hospital in an ambulance and then cared for and sent home, all without any kind of bill?

Cause here in the US theyd save your life but then youd get a bill for at least $100k if you arent insured(and likely 20-30k even with insurance)

What did you go to the emergency room for that they made you wait 4-8 hours?

Or basically do what I did once. I didn't pay an emergency bill because I was unemployed at the time, and really needed to go to the ER. So anyways, I just didn't pay it after a long while and they pretty much forgot about it.

I'd imagine if working they would be charged for any medication they are given but outside of that yes. If you're not working you pay nothing. The NHS is a great service and something I'm thankful we have over here.

Oh on that note the waiting times in A&E can be a long time too over here depending what you're in for of course. That's understandable though.

Whether the staff is friendly or treats you like a massive inconvenience is a crapshoot but it's free and the medications are covered so I can't complain. They've recently started upgrading a lot of their obsolete equipment as well so I'll give it a solid 7/10.
