If it had an actual 3.5" floppy drive, I might consider it. Or even better, a 5.25" floppy drive and I'd definitely get one.

How so? Even for a 5.25" drive, it would be marginally larger than the SNES Classic, which is about 5"4.5"1". You'd probably be looking at around 7"7"4", which still easily fits in your hand.
