Why do they hate the european union so much? The reason is simple. They don't want another superpower... None of the the E U members can individually challenge the US in things such as trade and influence..but as a block they can...

A rising China and a United EU is what right wing Americans hate...they hate competition and want to remain the only world power....same for Russia...they hate the EU because as a block they would get neutered if they attack the EU

The EU is a warning of what happens when you have open boarders and are prohibited from criticizing the behavior of people coming into a country. Given hate speech laws, social media censorship, and debate regarding the immigration it may not be long before the US faces the same problems.

And this can be changed from whitin the EU if people don't like it. There are 3 options

1) keep it as it is
2) focus on getting migrantsfrom countries that integrate easier such as Latin America and south East Asia
3) reduce immigration a lot(may not be a good idea since nobody wants to have kids)

In the sense that refugees are spread out over the EU and all member states carry a responsibility for them.

Actually it is as the eu has become a psuedo totalitarian organisation making demands on its members ignoring and fobbing off the concerns and worries of its citizens states like britain who are now leaving are having a tough fight thanks to pro european leaders making every effort to prevent them leaving, dont get me wrong i believe in a united europe and eventually a united world but it should never be at the expense of the citizens of member countries who end up being at the mercy of nonelected leaders.
