I tend to vote only on propositions and whatnot while skipping candidates. I have an easier time understanding the various propositions than I do with the candidates.

How can a competent candidate win if people don't vote? Are you familiar with Massachusetts politics? Warren is very popular here, but not unbeatable. Jeff Diehl has as good a chance as anyone to win against her. He has a considerable amount of support.

Did you vote during the primary? Warren ran unopposed on the Dem ticket but Diehl had opponents. If you didn't like Diehl, or thought one of the other candidates might have a better chance against Warren, you and people like you may have made a difference. There's still an independent in the running in Shiva. If you don't want Warren to win, vote.

That's the absolute shittiest argument against voting - being disenfranchised with the process because you assume the incumbent is a shoe-in to win - and then refusing to vote... that's just lazy and irresponsible. The only way you and the rest of the lazy slobs out there can hope to change anything is to vote. Saying voting won't make a difference is a cop-out. More than 50% of the voting population don't vote during midterms. If even half of those people got off their ass and did their civic duty, these elections may not be as predictable as they tend to be.

You know as well as I do that nobody is going to vote against Warren, Diehl has no chance and was only nominated so that Warren would win unopposed. Also Shiva is a liar, and woman beater.

None of this matters because Warren is popular due to "standing for progress" despite doing nothing but acting like she is a progressive politician. I don't want anyone with an Ivy League or Law background representing me, but that is not going to change, corruption breeds corruption and people don't care because they follow the "as usual" politics based on sensationalism, identity politics, fake progressivism and lies.

The same thing happened in the 2016 election, nobody went against Hillary in the primaries for the same exact reasons. There was no chance of victory due to it being her turn.

Depends on the race. Amusing, most of CT's races seem to be "Malloy vs Trump," with less attention to the actual candidates running. I've had coworkers and friends save me some of their flyers since, as a Democrat, I don't get nearly the mix that independents receive. My favorite flyer this season is the Kevin Lembo mailer where he and Malloy are escaping CT on a life raft.

The governor's race is between two multi-millionaires who have never held political office. This year would have been an easy win for Republicans had anybody but Stefanowski won the nomination. And if virtually anybody other than Lamont was running (because Lamont is *still* an improvement over Joe Ganim and Dan Malloy), Stefanowski wouldn't even be close in the polls.

They never really went away (well... depending on how you look at it), they just stopped making the news as often. Granted, some of the movement's key figures -- like Bachman -- no longer hold office.

Is that the gas tax repeal? I'm still looking into that. I want to know what funding would go into the transportation infrastructure before I consider cutting additional funds. I don't doubt the funding is misused but between the two choices, I'd rather direct extra funds even if some of it is misused than not direct any extra funds at all.

Of course if I want the funds to be used properly, I probably should look into voting for the right candidates who hopefully would use it properly.

tbh, CT has a similar issue where we have one of the highest gas taxes in the nation yet the worst roads... which is leading to them talking about putting in tolls so we'll have the worst roads, among the worst bridges, highest gas taxes, and tolls.

Majority of my civil engineering friends tend to be pro-infrastructure but I think some are at the end of their patience when it comes to California gas tax. Among some folks I know, they are not against taxes, they just want it to be used properly.

I recall reading that several states are banning to push the FFC to crack down on these telemarketers. They're not suppose to call cellphones but of course, that gets ignored and the national "Do not call" list is next to useless.

Basically the more I see your name/face, the less I like you. And again, if they have the money to spam us so much then they don't need the job. It's SUCH a waste to litter the roadways with their signs. A waste for them to send flyers that go straight to the trash.
