Did you fall for the fake Kredits screen after you "beat" King.K.Rool?

I was probably 8 or younger when this happened to me. >_>

I was 6 and instantly recognized it as fake the moment the music didn't change for the credits. The music always changes for the credits!

I didnt put the controller down. It he did get me. Completely shocked and not ready for that

I initially thought I'd won but then I noticed the credits were all goofy joke names so I was ready for the "twist" after it.

I also definitely beat the pre-credits stage of K Rool on my first try which made me really suspicious because he comes right after another boss (Master Necky v2) whom I definitely did not beat on my first try.

I thought the fake credits were like Super Mario Bros. 2 or Mega Man 3 with all those weird pen names after the robot masters list but I didn't put the controller down since something was still suspicious.

Yeah, I fell for it. I even walked out of the room to get something to drink while the credits rolled and was very confused when I came back and saw I was on the level select screen.

That was the last time I didn't watch the credits all the way to the very end though...!

I voted "put my controller down" even though I can't say for sure if it fully got me. I just remember being surprised. I'm not really the type to put the controller down so possible I rallied anyway. But I'll count that as one for K. Rool anyway.

I didn't put the controller down, but I also wasn't sure what to expect. I did wind up losing a life at that stage for a few more attempts.

I also used to mistake King K. Rool for King R. Kool. I'm not sure what that was about.

Then that ****er got back up and I managed to dodge the first one, but then I died to the next one

I played it first on the Game Boy Color. I definitely put it down thinking it was over BUT recovered quickly enough to not die.

Yeah, the thing with the K Rool fight is that even if you don't put down the controller, his next attack is long jump with good range, and you've likely landed really close to his hitbox from your last jump attack, and you don't get control of the Kongs during the credits. If you aren't ready for it, you probably were hit.
