Jason Van Dyke's lawyer, Tammy Wendt, launched the gofundme shortly after the jury found him guilty of second degree and 16 counts of aggravated battery with firearm, 16 representing the number of times he SHOT the teen!! He is now awaiting sentencing but the gofundme raised says Tiffany Van Dyke is now left to raise 2 children on her own and is hoping to raise 100,000 for clothing, shelter and school. Jason was the breadwinner of the family as Tiffany did not have a job The shocking murder was caught on camera in Chicago as it was the most graphic they've seen in years that stoked nationwide outrage and Black Lives Matter protests. The 40 y/o is the FIRST to be charged with murder on an on-duty shooting in about 50 years. The second degree verdict reflected the jury's finding that they believed his life was in danger but the shooting was unreasonable. They also had an option of first degree murder but required finding the shooting was unnecessary and unreasonable. The shocking shooting caught on camera showed Laquan walking away from officers with a knife and Jason comes barging from the left and begins SHOOTING wildly and shot Laquan point blank 16 times.
