how do you get over the fear of thinking that the one time you actually put your foot down and say "no, fuck it, you guys are all gonna fucking listen to me because i'm usually right and i won't be ignored this time" will then be the one time you are, of course, completely and embarrassingly wrong?

Don't make it a one time thing. It's just like in any game of skill that has variables to it (the human condition and mindset is very tough, no one is ever 100% right) so if you risk yourself on one play then there is always that risk you are going to be wrong. So what you need to do is establish the facts of your success in the past as well as the logic of why you are correct and not stake your reputation on it, but rather rely on your logic in a forceful way. There is no mistake I could make, no matter how great, that would harm my reputation here or anywhere else I have ten+ games in. I could make the stupidest mistake ever and sigh and go "Oh, I got that wrong because of x, that sucks." You never see me going "Oh damn, I suck now."

Example: Corrik fooled me in Blade mafia. I had him early on, but he did something in mentality that I didn't see coming and my PoE upon my death was flawed by 1 due to Corrik. Did I play badly because of that? No, I had a logical flaw due to slightly underestimating Corrik's scum range. I was very active, I was controlling town, and I made an error in that + being overly paranoid of you. Those aren't reputation breaking mistakes, those are logical errors that I understand and can account for going forward.

If you make a move with fear, you've already lost.

dont have fear. People are going to be wrong all the time. The way I look at, I am certain I am town, 100%. I can't be 100% certain of anyone else. So why the fuck would I value anyones opinion over my own(There are states of game where this changes, but I'm talking neutral day 1 state here in my head).

Anyone else has the same 66+% chance of being wrong if they are town, but they also have a 33% chance of being scum leading you down a wrong road. So the % chance of someone else being correct about scum is far worse than your own.

You are going to be wrong many times but regardless of that, if you are town your own opinions are still the best chance to win. Town is better following you than anyone else. Misylnch someone? All is not lost. Find who pushed your view, who tiptoed, who was just sheeping town. Plenty to gain from a mislynch.

Ouch.

Is this the kind of dream deflating, soul shriveling honesty I can expect for the low low price of $79?

After years of playing the game, how have you noticed the game/user base evolved (or the "meta" I guess)? Any old tricks or playstyle that became obsolete?

Chris, I just accidentally contradicted myself while trying to argue a lynch but i'm not scum. How do i redeem myself in the eyes of town to not get myself mislynched over something so minor?
