I did it in Blue, around when I was 11 I think? Borrowed a friend's extra gameboy and copy of Red that I played through.

I then completed Diamond's Pokedex after playing it for over a year and trading with a friend with Pearl. I think it was a lot easier, if somewhat time consuming, due to the internet trading. Diamond was where my interest in Pokemon games (age 16-17) somewhat fell off. I still bought Black and X after this, but hardly played them. I bought HeartGold too, and played it a fair amount....not nearly enough though, for my favorite gen. Diamond had very slow mechanics, and I don't feel like they've gotten better...perhaps they have though, I haven't checked out much new.

I'm stoked to get a Switch and Let's Go Pikachu...a somewhat chiller, beautifully redone remake of the classic games, and I can control it with a Pokeball? I'm a sucker.

They've definitely gotten faster (with BW/BW2 being the fastest, I think). Not sure how Sun and Moon compare.

I've completed the original Blue (aside from Mew), X (with X having a livingdex), and OmegaRuby (though that was kinda cheating because I just transferred a bunch of Pokemon from my livingdex in X to OmegaRuby). Haven't been able to get into the new ones after X.

I nearly did in Sapphire, but was missing some event only Pokmon if I remember correctly. Same goes for Platinum or Pearl. Haven't tried since.

I did the 150 or 151 (I think I glitched for Mew?) in Blue, but I think that's it. tbh, never cared that much about a full dex although I tried to catch new stuff and evo'd for dex entries. The trading aspect I'm not sure ever did after RBY, since most of the people I knew who played had quit before or early into gen 2.

Honestly, though, the original 150/1 is the big one. Everything else doesn't have the same appeal.

4 games for me. Blue, X, Omega Ruby and Moon. It's very easy to fill the pokedex now considering Nintendo often giving away legendaries and mythical via interweb since XY.

Oh, I keep forgetting that shit. Was on top of it for a while. Plus I often miss the card promos. That said, it was even EASIER back in RBY before you had to deal with a ton of nonsense promos for legendaries and could glitch for the one legendary that NOA was douchey enough to lock. (Unlike GSC which I don't think in the US had an in-game method to unlock Celebi.)

Never have. The best chance I had was in red when there were only 151

And even then I wouldn't have been able to because of mew being an event Pokemon (unless I used the glitch of course).

I sacrificed my save file in Red to help my brother get the other two starters in his Blue, and also helped out with other Pokmon. He did finish the Dex, but not until Silver came out and I was able to catch a Tauros on the route between Ecruteak and Olivine. It was the last Pokmon he needed, and could never catch one in the Safari Zone. He tried for dozens of hours. So it was both of our efforts.
I've never really cared since then. I catch everything I see as I play, but once I finish the game, I stop caring. And I haven't played any games since Y, nor do I plan to. I do still kind of want to play the Gen 3 remakes, but Nintendo games never drop in price so I may never do so.

Unless you count regional Pokdexs (which I don't), never. Got really close in Y because I was raising Togepi from someone else's Friend Safari into Togekiss which seemed to be very popular in global trading but eventually got tired of leveling them up one by one. Other than that, I may have gotten close in Diamond because I played that one so much but can't remember how close I exactly was.

I completed the entire Pokedex in Red version and the regional Dex in Sun so that I could get the Shiny Charm.

Same. I did it in the first two generations, but then it became a mess with all the pokemon you couldn't get through non-cheating means for a few generations and by the time you could catch them all again, there were too many for it to ever be viable for me to try.

I doubt it. You were probably missing two cards unless you had two copies of the game, because this was the most ridiculous thing in the history of Pokemon. You had to use that GBC infrared special gift thing to get two extremely rare cards, and you could only use it once per game with the same person, so the only way to really get those cards was to either know thousands of people who also owned the game, or have two copies and have one restarting their game constantly to take advantage of the function.

The only Pokmon game I've played is Go. Played that for a couple weeks. Think I had a dozen different Pokmon.

I finished up to the entire Hoenn Dex in Heartgold. Never finished the Sinnoh part.

Hopefully the Switch game actually allows us to catch em all instead of stunting the generation like Sun and Moon.

I don't really count Moon because I just transferred most of my Pokemon from Gen 6.

I completed all Dex's up to Gen IV. When Gen V came out I was already so sick of transferring dozens of Pokemon forward to complete the dex I just decided to give up on it.
