I really like Reberta but I'm not a fan of her ramp up. I do like how her jump works though where you can just bring it down anywhere in the chain.

This was a somewhat special case thanks to Odin being human; her ramp up is definitely worth it in this case. Yes I had to wait until Turn 3 to do the most damage, but Odin isnt going down much faster than that anyway, so the time investment isnt much different. I think thisll be one of the few battles, outside 10-mans, where shell get any chance to shine though. I mainly use her for Octaslash chaining just to give myself some variety, and because she doesnt eat up a lot of materia and accessories that many other units use.

I brought her to the training dummy with my 2 hyohs and did some damage tests. Fully ramped up I was able to do 300 million damage in 1 turn using them. Not bad at all. That's nearly 100 million more than using Olive and 2 hyohs.

Bonus stage was... surprisingly ok, barring forgetting to get AOE physical for squid boy

Missed Io's missions and the crysts for Eryines, but it feels good to pwn tentacle boi after he gave me sooooo much pain in his trial.

Great Vampire Lord pissed me off.

I know that the MP drain is...needed to deal with the power boost, but did they really need the boss to heal themselves that much as well? Or charm everyone?

Granted, part of it is my lower power level and most of my power in my mages and hybrids, but even so, the long fights for some of my attempts were an annoyance.

Eventually RNG played along and helped me get everything in 13 turns, but damn...

I really hate the MP drain. I can deal with the charm, status effects, all of that. Hell, an MP drain in a battle isnt bad. But the preemptive is just...fuck that. Your survival is entirely RNG based because you have no way to set up...well, anything.

True indeed. I'm lucky to have Basch in this instance since he can pull off an exception by healing MP to get breaks off, but barring that...

Ok gents, I'm interested in starting this game. I've been rerolling in hopes of pulling something decent. Got a 5 star Sephiroth, but I'm wondering if I should keep rerolling and if yes, who should I be gunning for?

Having a 5* in general is a good start, and Sephy is a good call since he has good viability once he gets his 7*. He'll carry you through early-mid content easily.

My preferences would be to get a support unit since you get a decent physical attacker in Lightning and magical attacker in Ashe for free by going through story, but Sephy is nothing to sneeze at.

Out of curiosity, what made you take the plunge?

Tried building Fina up as high as I personally thought I could go, she still got drained to zero. I'm having FFBE Equip run through to maximize all three now to see if it can eke out anything else, but I'm not hopeful.

As expected, LM Fina still gets drained to zero on the first turn. I've tried pushing through because RNG was kind and didn't charm anyone, and after 17 turns of the boss healing up to full after me getting him close to death a few times, decided that Death Crimson chaining with Reberta wasn't going to do it. Turns out their cooldown skill does a crapton of damage though, and as soon as I used those he went from full to zero.

Fuck MP drain.

I made it after turn 9.(OBAMA) Screwed up since I forgot to give Lakshmi aoe charm resistance. ~_~ Still, manageable once breaks are applied despite el lordo getting charmed half the time. >_>

Going forward is Ayaka or LM Fina better for these types of bosses?

A quick spec gave me an Ayaka with about 780 SPR so she hits 0 p quick.

Tried going with Ayaka/WoL/Basch/CG Nichol/Lightning as a "hard content" team, could switch out WoL for CG Lid though.

I went with Mamza as my tank, and Nichol as an MP Battery, since theyre both immune to charm. I had to go back a second time to get the esper mission (could have brought Queen or seem in right away, but I went overkill).

My Ayaka was left with around 300 MP, so I had her top everybody off, had Nichol give them some more, and then Hyoh and friend Hyoh took him down that turn.

If people need something thats able to not be fully drained I can share my Ayaka. She wont be immune to charm obviously, but with a little luck she might be the difference maker.

Depends on the conditions. LM Fina will be more sought after in general due to her kit once she gets hers. (Element resistances too for Zargabaath.)

Eventually Ayaka gets benched for the flower girl.

Until then her resilience, Dedication +2, barriers and stop management should be used as you see fit.

We also need to keep in mind in case they have a stand in for JP Santa Roselia who is very useful.

I want to run Zarg a bit more, but its taking more time than expected to really level up everyone.

Him and Rem have been taking up all the XP and I still need to give Orlandeau and Beatrix some love.

I think my only 120s right now are Lightning and Olive. Luneth is another one to join the fray soon.

Slow, since he got great boosts in what he lacked as a 7*. (Though locked timed dual abilities is on the iffy side.)

I definitely did, but I couldn't reach anywhere near the numbers your Ayaka has. I probably should've used her since she has enhancements, and probably better stats. I also admittedly haven't potted anything but SPR on my Fina; too many other units took priority. Guess she gets my next round of defensive stuff.

Anyway, build I had was this. Keep in mind this was FFBE maximizing MP/DEF/SPR, regardless of what gear I needed to use. Figured I'd go with it since it was the most important build I needed.

Same build on Ayaka doesn't net me better stats (though again, mine isn't potted, and she's not behind by much), so I guess using her wouldn't have worked after all. No idea what you had, other than if your Ayaka was 7*.
