THE LOCAL PRIEST IS FILLING THE PEWS EACH WEEK in an all-new episode titled A Boy and a Priest on Wednesday, October 3 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central.

A very special relationship has developed between Butters and the Parish Priest. When the town finds the church doors locked and no sign of the pair, they call in the Catholic Church.

The website is also calling the episode "The Boys are Missing," so it looks like they may have had a late change on the title.

Im wondering when theyre gonna address anything from the previous season though. In a way Im kind of glad theyre ignoring it because I wasnt fond of it, but I totally expected it to just follow right after the ending there.

Always liked the South Park Priest...Father Maxi, I think?

And yeah, so far I'm not seeing a real connection to last season and I'm not even immediately sure where the connection will be from last week. They have plenty of time.

Welp, didn't love it or get the point of it too much. Opening minutes had promise though.

father maxi "sacrificed himself" for the good of south park, returning to his normal life where he's not appreciated and where he's constantly being made fun of, in order to prevent the church from sending new priests that would try to molest the boys.

episode wasn't really very funny or topical, the whole catholic church thing has been done to death... it's even been done BY SOUTH PARK already... the only part I thought was relevant was when randy was trying to watch TV, and overall the clear explicit tone that the adults no longer had fun doing anything else aside from going to church. I think that was commentary about how jaded people have become, to the point where it feels like a lot of people have to be harassing others or having fun at their expense, and are quickly growing bored of normal entertainment (unless they can complain about how it doesn't live up to rigorous moral and social standards)

only part that made me laugh really hard was the sound that the cumby made. a few good jokes aside from that, but overall way too serious of an episode for my tastes.

I lost it when Randy told Shelly to shut up while talking like her. Also like how you can see Stans sling from when he was shot last week and nobody cared

I actually really liked this episode

I mean the Catholic Church thing has been done to death, sure (they specifically made fun of that with everyone mocking priests in the episode) but it's still relevant because it's still happening.

The episode revolved around a priest having a healthy, non-sexual/romantic relationship with a religious child, the idea of which has become so unusual that it's funny to see.

And I kind of dug the idea of Father Maxi being a hero vigilante priest mowing down the molesters

I cant believe they actually mentioned Maxi finding out the truth which happened way back in season 6. Gotta be one of the oldest callbacks theyve ever done

Agreed, I did really enjoy this old shout-out that also served as a reminder that we heard about this priest abuse years ago.
