And I gotta say, if you back into it, I really resent your lifestyle choices.
Why would you back into it?

Depends on the parking. At work, sometimes one or the other. But in winter, I park to have the front end of my car facing the sun, to prevent frost and whatnot from accumulating on it.
At home, always pull back in, for that same reason, and because it's easier getting out of the driveway if I'm going forward.
Edit: oh and just shopping, always pulling in.

Those only work if you still check your dead angles, which, incidentally, most people with cameras don't check because they think the camera is enough. Hint: it's not!

It depends on the situation. I usually pull into parking spaces but back in every now and then. I back into my driveway though as it is on an incline and makes it easier to get in and out, especially after my surgery.

People who hate on it are just insecure about their driving skills, yo.

This, pretty much. If I'm getting a few things at the store, back in. If a lot, I park far and pull in.

Parking in my city is always congested and I've gotten hit twice pulling out of a spot. Backing in is safer imo cus leaving is easier

This, too.
I don't mind walking 5 seconds more to get to the store, if it means not having assholes parking too close to me and denting my car with their doors, or having troubles getting out of my parking spot cause there's too much traffic in the parking lot and common courtesy isn't a thing anymore.

Depends where I park.

Grocery/contractor materials shopping - pull in for easier access to the trunk/flatbed.

Appointments/meetings/errand - Back in

At home - pull in, due to having a half-circle driveway.

At my shop - back in due to driver's side door is closer to the shop entrance.

Pull in.

The parking police at my university would specifically ticket people who backed into spaces instead of pulling in. I graduated years ago, but the habit has stuck with me.

Why would they do that, assuming the back-in wasn't complete shit?

Easier to check their parking passes in the windshield if everyone's parked facing the same way.

They actually scanned our plates to make sure we'd paid for a parking permit. That didn't stop them from erroneously issuing tickets though.

Source: my friend who got ticketed twice for parking in a handicapped space... with his handicap hanging tag in fullview. And got accosted over it by one of the glorified rent-a-cops patrolling the lots.

Yeah, but, as you'd imagine, college students don't really have the cash for a lawyer. I know he got one of the tickets dismissed by proving he had the tag.

I don't see how. Just pull in. It takes more time and effort to back in. Then, when you leave, you have to try and come look past the whole length of the front of the car.
