I have been missing out my whole life:(

There was this post on facebook talking about if it's ok to leave butter out of the fridge.

I have always stored mine in the fridge and have always hated I couldn't get butter as good as you do at resteraunts etc. I bought whipped butter etc, and sometimes if I plan ahead, I'll leave some out ot get soft, but most of the time.....my butter is hard.

I will now leave a stick of butter out so it is ready. Supposedly it's good for up to 10 days. This will probably drastically increase how much butter I actually use lol...and may cause me to eat more carbs as well, so maybe this is not a good thing.

But it will be a yummy thing.

Can't believe I lived my whole life putting my butter in the fridge:(

I'd imagine you'd use more because it's far harder to portion a warm stick of butter than a cold one.

I've always left butter out. My grandmother always left it out, as did my mom.

My wife insists on refrigerating ours, though. I've told her numerous times that I grew up with the heavenly splendor that is warm, spreadable butter, but she's determined to live a life of frustration and pain, I guess

I just take it out of the fridge in advance. Or I heat it up with any tool available at the moment. No big deal.

That is why butter dishes exist.
