The real kicker is what happens afterwards. The stress, the lack of medicinal supplies and the proper food to maintain your lifestyles, that's the killer. Yes, it's full of corruption, but the main reason there were still power outages was bc we had another cat 5 hurricane pass very near us exactly a week before Maria. I was without electricity for 3 days and general electricity was back a bit more than 90% by the time Maria hit us. Then I spent the next 4-5 months without electricity. Spending a fortune on gas to power electric generators so that my newborn baby (who was born on the day Trump came to the island 2 weeks after the hurricane) could sleep better during the nights.
