this is pretty much it, yeah. a lot of people on this site had both a PSX and an N64, they just preferred the N64.

this site is nintendo-centric but it's also JRPG-centric. people here played all those final fantasy games on the sony consoles.

if you literally care about video games at all you got every playstation and nintendo console to be able to have access to 99% of what's worth playing out there

ps2 & ps4 are sales juggernauts, ff7 has long been the #2 game of the userbase here, and generally this place has always been Sony over MS by far and large

...eh? PS1 games are among the most popular on the site, the PS2 is arguably the most popular one with a ton of JRPGs, the PS3 was way more popular than the 360 on gamefaqs and ultimately sold more, and the Xbone is a walking joke.

I'm surprised! I know Playstation is well-loved here, but nearly half the site owning all four consoles seems really high to me. Maybe I'm extrapolating too much from my own experience -- when I was a kid my parents only let me have one console per generation (granted, it was PS1/PS2), and these days I'm much more into PC gaming than consoles. I might get a PS4 eventually but it's not high priority.

majority of this site are people who are in their late 20s-30s with a lot of money to spend, the poll doesn't specify that you had to own these consoles during their cycles, just that you own them

Which is a little out of date now, but as you can see Sony has won every generation on this site (since the SNES). Well, guess N64 had a slim lead on the PSX... not sure if that's held up since 2005 though.

46% of the site also owns every single Sony console, which is impressive because I don't think 46% of the site has owned every single Nintendo console (given the Wii U only maxed out at 49.11% ownership).
