I don't expect a lot of time to go to Smash, but I still think there will be a new 2-minute character reveal trailer somewhere. Likely a character from a game/series being showcased (like an Isabelle reveal if they finally announce a new Animal Crossing).

I think this will be mostly about the paid online service coming later this month. I'm not going to count out a Smash reveal, though it feels really soon.

It's been almost a full month since the last reveal, and we only have about three months left in which to fit reveals since I doubt they're going to save many, if any, for the very last moment

I was always under the impression we'd get one more major Smash blowout around October and that would be it. So anything extra is a bonus to me. The Smash board seem to thing 1 brand new character and an echo will show up which is pretty wishful thinking.

In non-Smash news, I'm hoping for a Ni no Kuni 2 port. Probably too soon for the next Bravely/Octopath team announcement. First footage of SMT5 seems unlikely but would be hype.

For Nintendo stuff, a new Mario RPG or Pokemon Mystery Dungeon would be nice.

And of course Animal Crossing.

Literally the only reason many people want him in Smash now is because people used to want him in Smash, and not because of any particular qualities or fanbase that he actually has garnered

Geno has been a fan favorite character for about two decades now. People freaked out when he made a extremely minor Cameo appearance in a Mario and Luigi game. He's also always has been one of the top fan poll choices in every Smash game. And he had a Mii costume in the previous game.

I imagine there will probably be one new trailer in this one, then they'll do a special presentation in October (like the one for Robin/Lucina that was announced a few days ahead of time and aired on its own without a Direct), then in November they do another Smash Direct that begins and ends with the final new trailers, and the remaining echo fighters are shown during.

Conspiracy theory: Nintendo actually postponed the direct out of fear of Smash backlash, so they used whatever excuse they could to buy time to quickly put together a new character trailer.
