They told me to apply for Obamacare

I can't get ACA because I'm already on medicare.

I need two insurances in order to get a kidney transplant, but so far it seems I can't get anything I can afford because I'm already on medicare

What a fucked up system. Guess I have to literally sell my car and reapply in 6 months :/

You're thinking of Medicare I think, but I am eligible because I'm considered disabled due to having end stage kidney failure.

Or at least I think so, this whole thing has been the most fucked up confusing thing ever.

They would also expect you to sell it to afford a lawyer before offering you a court appointed one.

yeah medicaid has a requirement where the total value of your assets must be lower than a certain (incredibly low) amount.

It's $2,000 for an individual and $3,000 for a couple in all but a handful of states

What shit state are you in that counts a car in the assets? I've never heard of it not being exempt.

I'm in Indiana, but looking over it they might not have counted it because it claims my car is worth 4000 but then states I had assets of 3000

I don't know where they get that number though cause I literally only have 1000 in a savings account and then never more than 500 in my checking.

rules are rules but the requirements need to be raised or at least exempt one car from the calculations. i still think it's BS they deny you.
